MT hammered the GM HD offering again on interior and really disliked the new 6.6 gas V8
"Half-assed gas V-8, Cheap, unsightly interior, Soft, squishy brakes"
"We sampled the gas and diesel engines...and although one was good and the other bad, both brought plenty of ugly."
"Interior design is more objective for a truck like this. It needs to be a nice place to spend time on a long-haul drive. Unfortunately, it was more a place we wanted to get out of...Thin and hard seats, a dreadful layout, and a tiny infotainment touchscreen caught universal derision."
"The 401-hp, 464-lb-ft engine doesn't seem up to the task... "disappointment,"..."feels too small for a truck of this size.".."gutless and inefficient" and "doesn't feel like it makes more power than the 2.7-liter turbo I-4 in the Silverado 1500."
"This old six-speed tends to hunt and isn't clever about downshifting to maintain speed."Pulling a 10,500-pound trailer, things only got worse..."Where did the power go?"... "The big problem for all GM HDs is that this V-8 exists."
2019 Ram Heavy Duty Review: Pros and Cons From 2500 to 3500, and From Diesel to Gas - Motor Trend
No matter whether you prefer gas or diesel, you can’t go wrong with either on the Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 heavy duty trucks.

To sum up, only downsides are lack of 8/10 speeds with the diesel and slower accelerating diesel than competition. Lots of praise elsewhere, including a comment regarding the Powerwagon out-towing the GM gas HD.
