Off by about 90lbs payload.

I believe at 3459#, you have the highest payload yet. I think mine was the highest at 3307, but no longer!

Interesting Power Wagons have D rated duratracs while 2019 Rebel 1500s are E rated

Howdy,
It's not so much about D rated tires or E rated tires. At certain sizes, it's more about the tire load rating.

Say the truck calls for a E tire at 3208lbs rate tire. I go larger size to a D rated tire with 3650lbs rating. Even though it's D rated, the weight rating is sufficient to meet the need.

An E rating is more than what a 1500 needs.

Rebel = 275/70R18E load rating = 3,640
PW = 285/70R17D load rating = 3,195

My theory, Rebel used E rated for lower rolling resistance - part of why it hasn't ever been separately EPA rated.

PW uses D for softer sidewall for better RTI/flex. They don't have to care about EPA rating.

I'm more interested to know differences in sidewall strengths. I've heard puncture issues with the duratracs on PW

You might be right. I suspect the decision for the Rebel is not based on the E rating at all. I think Ram got a good deal on the Toyo AT's, it looks reasonably aggressive for the Rebel, and Toyo doesn't make a D rated in that size (285/70r17).

Only if you got a lightly optioned truck in that cab/bed configuration.

But, being a 3500, they seem to not be affected by options much...or they have the configurator dialed in better

The website is wrong... even if you enter your VIN, the number it gives is wrong.

The website claimed my old 1500 had a payload of just over 1800#... in reality, it was a little over #1300.
