hello everyone, went to my preferred local dealer last night after they gave me a call saying pricing was Available. Im looking at ordering a 2500 Larime Black, Mega cab. Cummins motor and pretty much all the bells and whistles. Everything seems great until one problem I'm noticing. There is a choice between a larime level 1 package and a larime level 2 package. A lot of the stuff on these packages seems like it should be as i call it. a standard option for a larime like heated second row seats. To me its hard to justify the $3995 price tag for heated second row seats and a 17 speaker audio system. Any thoughts on this and how this all works?

Have your salesman make you up another sales sheet that has the level 1 package in it. I noticed in the 2019 1500 online builder that the cost of the 12" uconnect upgrade varies depending on whether you have level 1 or level 2. This is how it falls out with a 1500 Laramie.

Level 1 - $1695
12" screen - $2095
1 Total $3790

Level 2 - $4595
12" screen - $1395
2 Total $5990

Difference between packages with 12" screens: $2200. I suspect it will be something similar in the 2500. It's interesting that package 2 is $600 cheaper than on a 1500 and the 12" upgrade is $100 cheaper. One thing I did notice is that they don't label the Package 2 stereo as a Harmon Kardon. I wonder if they're using something different and that's where the $600 savings is coming from. I don't recall hearing anything about Harmon Kardon during the 2500 reveal.

I was told it’s the Harmon Kardon system just like on the 1500. Still very confusing if you ask me.

There is something different from the HK system in the 1500 and 2500/3500. The 1500 has 19 speakers, the 2500/3500 has 17 speakers.

Does your current ride have a nice sound system and do you use it a lot? Would the back seat heating and wireless phone charging be useful to you?

Personally, I would hate to spend $70k+ on a truck and not have it sound as good as my current truck. But I'd get used to it in time if I couldn't swallow the up-charge. It would just dampen the honeymoon phase a lot.

I had my local dealership build me a 3500 mega cab SRW with the High Output Cummins. Built it kinda close to how I wanted it. It came out to $76,300.

I tweaked my build a little, I removed the auto level rear air suspension, and the dual 440 alternators and added the snow chief group, I’m at 73,274 for a mega cab 2500 Cummins with almost all the bells and whistles

Did you keep the Level 2 package? You're probably close to my build, but, 3500 crew cab for me. Waiting on dealer to get pricing to me now...

Those are nice builds, and a respectable price. Interested to know if the deals that were worked on the 1500 can be done with the HD...that would bring those luxury trucks into the 60k range...a very good price.
