Some pros and cons of the UC5:
Pros:
The UC5 definitely has a big advantage over the older UC4 as far as processing power goes. Menus and touch response feels smoother more like a smart phone than say the touch screen on a self serve register at the local fast food restaurant.
Wireless android auto is awesome, I never had an issue with plugging my phone in to use android auto since usually my phone needs a charge anyway. However the wireless android auto works real nice, once you pair the phone to Bluetooth or plug it in for the first time AA pairs and when you get in the truck the phone immediately connects, it's really convenient. It also eliminates the hassle of dealing with picky non OEM usb cables that like to drop connection randomly once they get a little used.
Dual bluetooth connections is convenient, it used to be whenever both my wife and i would be in the truck, my wifes phone would win the bluetooth battle, and it'd be a big inconvenience when i inevitably received a phone call while driving.
Cons:
The software is incomplete. In appearance and performance, it looks and feels like a beta, and it performs like a beta. It's glitchy, and it looks like something somebody slapped together the night before it was due. Yes, there are little hints of modern design, but compared to the polished look of the UC4 it seems incomplete.
Summary:
The potential for a really really nice infotainment system is there, but the way uconnect does things, it's gonna be a very long time before they get the major glitches worked out, then after that they'll probably start refining the GUI. If anyone is happy with their UC4 but considering upgrading, I wouldn't do it, at least not yet. Let Uconnect polish it up a little more.
