2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

That's what I was told......and that 14-16 weeks starts when they start production. I'm thinking my 1 July 2021 order will be here around Christmas 2021.
I was told that the order I placed last week should be available for pickup at the dealer sometime January/February 2022. That is fine by me. I'll get salt all over this 2021 and hand it in for my "keeper" 2022 Limited Longhorn.

I realize it's impossible to tell, just looking for other's opinions here...

Do you guys think that's a linear timeframe? If I ordered mid May (two months earlier) should I tentatively expect my Limited Longhorn November/December?

Not at all. I had my 2019 Ram 1500 factory ordered and received it 6 weeks after order acceptance. Others on the forums ordered the *exact* same build before me and received theirs about 4 to 6 weeks after I did.

There's some scheduling magic that goes on behind the scenes to fill trains and trucks with vehicles that are going to the same railhead for distribution.

This is the exact wording from an email this morning:

Thank you for your response. This is a courtesy email update regarding your Ram 2500 factory order status. We are anxious to get your vehicle built and shipped to your dealer as quickly as possible and want to assure you that your order has our attention and priority.

I show your order has been sequenced for production with all the parts necessary to begin building your order either being scheduled or gathered. Your order has an estimated production plan timing noted to take place the week of 07-26-21. Please keep in mind, this timing is projected and could be subject to change.
I think it was just subjected to change.

A 1500 is a tough comparison since the are built here a SHAP and not in Mexico

Did you option in the sunroof? When we selected the sunroof it popped a warning box stating that that portion would create a schedule hold due to parts availability. So depending on options and parts..... you could be like me with my Limited Longhorn and have your order bumped back as they wait to collect all of the parts.

By dealer mistake, I did. I didn't originally spec it to the dealer that way, but once I saw that it made it onto the build sheet I decided not to redo the order and just try to get some of the sunroof price knocked off. I don't hate the idea of a sunroof, it just wasn't worth the $1200 to me. So, sounds like we may be in the same boat there. When I ordered mine in May, I was never told of a warning happening. However, who knows what happens with scheduling behind the scenes...

As naive as it may be, I'm gonna continue to cross my fingers in hopes that I see it before snowfall. I sold my previous truck a bit prematurely so I'm stuck in my MR2 gas getter until this comes in or I'm forced to get something else 4x4 in the meantime.

Hi all, appreciate this thread and all the information coming in. I recently ordered a 22 2500 with a Cummins as well. At this point, I am hoping to get it by Christmas being my order was submitted 7/12/21. Its a Laramie with the sport, Level A and snow chief packages. The dealer blew a little smoke saying it should be on their lot in 8 weeks but I told them I was skeptical of that for sure.

Im looking to order a 3500 with a hemi for pulling a 10500 5er. Going from a 2500 which didn’t have auto leveling rear I wonder if it’s worth adding? I don’t see many builds on here with it. Is it not worth it that much? I guess with a fifth wheel it’s not really rear end squat as much as it is entire truck squat. Anyone choosing this option?

I bought a 2017 Rebel 1500 with the 4 corner air and it screwed up 4 times, each time took them weeks to get working. I will not buy air, I'll add my Amazon sourced airbags that work perfectly 100% of the time and would not take the truck out of service in the event of a failure. I did the Ride Rite or whatever they were called in my 2019 2500 and liked them a lot. I doubt a dually with 5700 payload is going to need any help with my 2800 lb pin fiver. If so, I'll jam a set under it.... not a big deal at all.

No. It is not linear at all due to the way the process works. Lets pretend you live in a region that orders 3 HD's a month and I live in a region that orders 75 HD's a month. Assuming all 78 trucks get done and QC'ed at the same time.... the train going to the region with 75 completed orders will be filled and sent with the 75 HDs long before the train going to the region with 3 orders a month is filled and sent out. Just that one little thing could slow your order.

Parts availability could hurt one order over another. Paint commonality could hurt an order. There are many things, but in no way should you think that it is "first ordered, first delivered", that is not reality at all. There are generalities, and they likely generally are realistic. But there are too many crap storms at play to guess who here will win this race to get the 2022s.

I ordered a '22 3500 srw gasser and got the air suspension just to soften the unloaded ride a bit. Also pulling a 11k GVWR 5er. Have no experience with it, but ordered it because I couldn't find anything like it in a 19+ anywhere in the country, so yes I'd say it's not very common, but more because of the gas vs diesel than the air vs not.

On 1 tons, and especially duallys, you dont order rear air for added capability. You add OEM air for a more pleasant ride while driving unloaded.

The leaf pack on the OEM air-assisted 3500's is thinner than the leaf pack on non-air trucks making for a softer ride with low air psi in the bags,

As such, the ride is quite nice compared to non-air trucks. 5,000 miles on my truck with OEM air and i absolutely love it; also, zero issues thus far.

I've got a 14K GVW 3500 dually and I'm very pleasantly surprised with the overall ride. I guess if I wanted to cherry pick a type of bump that was harsh, I could. But generally speaking it's a far more pleasing and compliant ride than I expected. I know that my Wrangler and my Cherokee TrailHawk both ride worse than my dually! This is the best riding vehicle I own.

Go drive an OEM air truck...

I drove both before making my decision and about 2 miles down the road in the non-air truck made the choice VERY easy.

If your dually is the "best riding vehicle you own", what else do you drive? Tractors and bottom dumps? Come on.

No sunroof for me.

Something to think about guys...

I got Rhino Liner applied to the truck bed today on the 2021.

I've always bought the factory RAM sprayed liner, and for my use style it's plenty.

But for a contractor, or an otherwise hard use case..... the Rhino is a thicker, heavier, more "rubbery" (less slip) and more protective product at only a slightly higher price.

If your using your truck for hard work, I'd skip the factory applied and go get this. Pretty impressive product.
