I think I may have steered you wrong when I mentioned setting the rails a little farther forward. Per the photos in the installation instructions, it said the frame needed to rest on the front bed rail. However, like you found, I noticed yesterday that mine is too close to the cab to fold appropriately and the rear window isn’t resting on the tailgate the way it should. Looks like I need to move mine too.I may need to move the whole thing back just a touch, which I don't really want to do since it looks better when closer to the cab, as folding it down completely forward is kinda tight. All the canvas/window bunch up and it is pretty tight against the cab. Will need to fiddle with it a bit more. A second hand may help tighten the initial folds up as well, too. We'll see.
I feel triggered. Is there a safe space nearby?

Annoyingly enough, I've very happy with how the rear sits. The flap nearly perfectly flat on the top of the tailgate. I don't want it hanging over onto the paint at all. I really don't want to make the cab-to-topper gap any bigger if I don't have to, either. I do still agree with your original suggestion though. Having the rails slightly more forward, makes the frame sit exactly as it looks in the photos.I think I may have steered you wrong when I mentioned setting the rails a little farther forward. ****ty garage photo, as per usual when I post photos here, but I got my Softopper installed. Did it a few days ago, and let it stetch out for a few days. Had a hockey game yesterday, so I rolled up the sides for the ride. Pretty cool product, and really the only option for my needs.

Haven't gone on the highway with it yet, but it seems pretty stable both in the position in the photo and fully sealed up. No buffeting or movement thus far.
I was going to originally paint the rails black, but while test fitting I surprisingly liked the silver. Feel like it works with the wheels. Easy enough to paint it later if I change my mind, too.
I do need to figure out some velcro situation for the back panel. I think I'm going to try to get it set up on the top of the tailgate. It looks like it should work just fine up there, and not on the paint. Putting velcro strips on the paint, is not an option.
Also still waiting for my plates, lmao. At least it's now registered though.
No such thing as a ****ty picture if there’s a PW in it.View attachment 18587
