2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

I am questioning sport appearance vs painted bumpers. I hate chrome... Other than the grill and mirrors being chrome on a Laramie B with painted bumpers, are there any other changes that Sport package gives at the $1K price vs $260 price for painted bumpers?

I am also questioning the Off Road package with Bilstien shocks.... aren't those shocks worth more than the package price and also going to ride better? ( I do not have the price on this)

With the S.O. Cummins, 4.10 vs 3.73 with about a 16-18K maximum towing? My truck will see 80%-90% daily driver use, is the 3.73 really going to add empty commuting fuel economy or is it really not a big deal and just stick with the 4.10 gears?

I did not see a limited slip option while building my 3500HD Cummins Laramie, is that standard?

Is this OEM AVF cabled camera worth buying? The 4 camera system coded XN1 is $916 on a Laramie, I do not know the invoice cost of the AVF.... but are any of them worth it? How are we going to deal with cables running down the length of the camper for the AVF rear view camera? This sounds cheesy to me.... is there a plan for this in the kit?

I sure wish RAM had a breakdown of packages on the site so I could bounce around and compare.

I do use an aftermarket trailer TPMS, Is the $409 invoice worth it (code XG9)?

Are there MOPAR dually mud flaps available? I had the MOPAR big black rubber ones installed on my 2019 and really liked them...

It looks like they are updating the build site for the 22's,as for the off road package the shocks are worth the price, that was a must have for me

Also, why does a 3500 CC/LB/DRW not get the rotary shifter? I prefer to have that as my 2017 1500 and my 2019 2500 had it and I learned to like it. Is there a way to get it on a Cummins 850TQ truck?

Nope, only with the 8 speed trans.

I skipped the TTPMS, over priced for what it is. No temperature data, just pressure. I'd rather just have a 3rd party product for that. I'm also not sure how frequently it checks pressure and updates, I want frequent updates in case of a fast leak.

Does anyone know of you can get the 17 Speaker Harmon Karmon Premium stereo separate for the Limited? I am looking at the Level 1 Limited Package and the only thing I am interested in is the upgraded speakers.
I actually have a Laramie on order but now looking at the options I am getting, most of them all come with the limited except the upgraded speakers. Now I don’t know what to do lol.
It is my understanding the Laramie Level B ($4025 MSRP) comes with the 17-speaker HK system.

Limited slip is standard on 3500s

I was told the invoice price on the AVF is $869.
I added it to my order. While a wireless camera would be preferable, I don't want an additional screen mounted in my truck...which would be the only way for me to get a wireless setup. The wired cam will show the trailer camera view (or truck rear view) on the digital rear view mirror at all times.

How do you see yourself dealing with cable management along the camper body?

AVF is the single rear continuous monitoring camera, I had initially picked XN1 that is the momentary 4 camera set up that is $995 MSRP and $916 invoice. So going AVF saves $45 (nothing) and drops the 360 camera view, but adds the continuous monitoring from how I understand it? Do you agree?

Literally no idea until I see it. Worse case, I'll run the cabling under the body along the framerails then up the back. Who knows...
My main "want" is to see behind the trailer. The 360 trailer view would be a nice extra but I don't want to pay for it.

What build site are you referring to? When I go to ramtrucks.com and do a build and price, I only see 2021 option for the 2509.

I also would love to download or look at a 2022 sales brochure. I can't understand how they are a month from production and we are picking our orders based on assumptions. We don't know what may have been added to or removed from packages, we are getting insider info on new options and trying to piece together what we actually want. This kind of sucks.

Don't expect anything soon. The 2021 brochure didn't come out until just a couple months ago.

Sorry for not scrolling up to see your build (dealing with kids right and on the go) but I have a 3500 limited lvl 1 (incl. the digital rear view mirror) on order and was told (by Sandi @ Mark Dodge) that XN7 is compatible with my build. XN7 is just the individual tow mode camera, not the whole AVF setup (which I believe includes the digital rear view AND the camera). Makes sense that AVF may not be compatible with builds that already include the digital mirror (safety group, limited lvl 1, etc.) but it looks like the stand alone camera (XN7) is. Hope this helps more than it confuses!

Posted a couple days ago was this breakdown of the 3 options. He did not list the XN7 that you are referring to......
After several discussions with my salesman, this is my understanding about the trailer cameras, at least for the power wagon:

AVF: provides digital rearview mirror and one camera for rear mounting. Will display on digital rearview mirror while in tow mode
XN1: provides four cameras for surround trailer camera. Only displays temporarily on center counsel screen
XFQ: provides wiring for one camera for mounting in or on trailer (No camera included). Only displays temporarily on center counsel screen.

All three are stand alone options. So you can get one or all of them. All must be ordered when the truck is built. I assume this will mean there would be three separate camera connectors in the rear bumper.

On the power wagon, AVF is $945. This is an interesting option because the only other way to get the digital rearview mirror on the power wagon is by adding the $1990 Safety Group. I have no interest in lane keep assist or active cruise control, but would like the digital rearview mirror.

The XN7 camera is what you would add if you already have the Digital Rear View mirror as part of another package.

I fear that those ordering loaded out trucks may get parts of the order cut and the truck built to a lesser level than requested as they did for the 2021. That had me scared. I really want the blind spot... my 19 had it and my 21 does not. What if they just make that call and remove parts of tech packages and say screw it and build your order?

Did anyone actually have things removed from their builds? They changed the option packages and removed blind spot monitoring, but it was done as of a specific date, so you knew if you ordered it, you wouldn’t get that capability in the package. Also, blind spot was still made available as a standalone option, you just had to pay more.

I’ve seen these concerns popping up, but they seem unfounded. Unlike Ford, which has built vehicles and parked them while waiting for parts to arrive to install, Ram has gone a different direction to keep truck orders flowing. Dealers couldn’t get lot inventory, but sold orders still made it through the system as ordered. I could be wrong (I often am), but I’ve been monitoring this forum for months and haven’t seen anyone say they ordered a truck and it got built without the options they wanted. They just may have had to wait longer to get it.

I went Spott Appearance twice now. What you get besides the bumper: door handles paint matched / grill surround paint matched (this is critical if you’re going to black out the grill inserts) / and black accents in the cab. This last one is money - without it and you pick black interior I believe the headliner and pillars are beige or light grey. Add the rose gold trim around the radio and chrome trim everywhere else and you have an odd 3-4 tone color scheme. Sport appearance should black out everything in the cab outside of the bezels (which remain chrome or that rose gold).

Uconnect 5 8.4 vs. Uconnect 5 NAV 8.4

Does anyone now the differences in the Uconnect features between these two? I use my phone for navigation, so I was not planning to spend $800 to get the NAV 8.4, but my salesman said that all the U5 features may not work on the standard 8.4 system. For example, can you get the over air updates with the standard 8.4 system? I dont know if anyone can answer these questions, but it would be nice to know whether certain U5 features will be disabled/unavailable on the standard 8.4 system.
