2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

I don't typically need help backing a trailer in and did think the hassle was worth it for me. If it was wireless, then maybe I'd consider. The digital rear view trailer cam felt more useful to me personally, especially since it can stay on while driving.

I do have truck surround, part of towing tech package.
The only time I can think that I would have liked to have trailer 360 was backing a trailer while turning (can't see anything on the far side of trailer) and trying to get the far side up against something or on the edge of a slab.

This is where the Furrion wireless camera system on my 5th wheel works really well. It came with the 5th wheel (option) and is wired for power but its blue tooth to the 7" screen. You can see while backing down both sides of the trailer and there's a rear camera as well. The blind side/passenger side has two camera's one over the door of the RV and one in the front that aims down the side of the trailer. The best thing I like is I KNOW all the time 360 degrees around my trailer while driving down the highway and its on a separate screen that doesn't mess with the trucks radio screen. I really like it when I need to change lanes quickly, or my exit came up faster than I thought....I can tell who's, behind or beside at all times. It displays 3 pictures on the screen both sides and rear all the time. I really hate it when I cant see what's beside me on the blind side of the trailer while backing, changing lanes or exiting the highway. That wireless system keeps a rookie like me out of trouble all the time. I want this type of system that I can move from trailer to trailer that's completely wireless, it has its own internal power as well as blue tooth to the screen in the truck.

I love to see the caution that DragRam is expressing concerning Mark Dodge, especially since these prices seem too good to be true. How can they sell so much cheaper than every other dealer in the country? What is special about them that they can make that much less profit? These prices they quote are less than the FCA employee price. How can that be? Wonder why they resist putting you in touch with Sandi when you call? I checked all of the last model year's posts (as suggested to me) and was surprised to see very few mentions of people picking up trucks at Mark Dodge. I was warned by my best friend (who used to live down there and does a lot of business deals) that there are a lot of sleazy business people down there, more than in most parts of the country he has seen. I remain cautious.

Yes and it makes sense that she works from Home in the Houston TX area. But her name is spelled differently in Linkedin. It all kind of makes sense. Almost everything I do like this I MUST be able to independently verify. I just mailed Checks paying for my House I am buying to a place that the info was given to me by the Listing agent. You can bet I verified everything several ways on line before addressing the envelope. I am assuming Sandi is going to want a deposit. Etc.

I started my process with an email to Aaron. He put me in touch with Sandi. I have exchanged dozens of emails with her as well as dozens of phone calls. The deposit put on my visa was through the parts department at mark dodge I believe. I blindly submitted my order on Memorial Day and received my 22’ pricing for my order today and the price structure I was quoted for a 21 build remained for my 22 build. So far I am super happy with mark dodge and Sandi. This forum alone is responsible for A LOT of her current orders.

I can appreciate your cautiousness but in this day & age with the interwebs if Mark Dodge was ripping people off or doing something unethical that Ram/ FCA would shut them down in a heartbeat. From what I was told they are one of the highest volume dealers in the country at 400-450 units/ month! If that is true and they move that volume I can completely see why they sell at the price they do, volume!! I gave just about every local dealer a shot, they all want MSRP or above, even tried Chapman both before & after Andrea started posting here and they can't (won't) even touch Mark's pricing. Not sure about the rest of the nation but guessing that they're all the same and out to rip every customer that walks thru the door for every dollar possible.

I ordered mine thru Sandi @ Mark and have slept comfy every single night since!

Agree. I was thinking more along the lines of electronics / chips that might not still be available when the factory opens. Hope that all gets sorted out soon.

Bought mine local. Maybe paid a little more. Gave my local dealer store manager who I am friends with a copy of one of the builds on here which showed to list, invoice, holdback and employee price. It was offered to forum member for less around $10000 off list. Local dealer does quite a few fleet units. Told me there was no way he could come close. I did notice on my build it says sold order with my name and salesman name on bottom left portion. A couple of builds forum members had posted just showed priority one like mine but no customer name or salesperson name? There must be a catch somewhere.

I tried to support local at several dealerships, even reached out to friends in the biz and they all said they "could not walk away from all the extra free cash so why charge less than MSRP if people are willing to pay that or above?". So when I was told by local dealers that they are ok ripping me off and didn't want to deal that I just can't support those who do not support me. I own two businesses and I fully understand supply & demand, I guess I just have good morals, like to sleep at night and don't like feeling like I screwed people over that day so I charge the same rates and markups today as I did before allow this covid crap. My prices have increased and so does the price to the end user, but the percentage of markup stays the same.

I feel very comfy with Mark Dodge and like I said earlier, if they are doing something shady FCA would have pulled their plug long ago! It's your money, you get to choose how & where to spend it!

For anyone wondering about adding Tow Mode, here's what Sandi and I worked out.
  • You can add the Tow-Mode Digital RR View Mirror Pkg (AVF) as a stand-alone package
    • Includes the Digital Rearview Mirror (GRG) and Tow-Mode Camera (XH7)
  • If you add Safety Group B, you CANNOT also add the Tow-Mode Digital RR View Mirror Pkg (AVF).
    • Safety Group B already includes the digital rearview mirror, so selecting it doesn't allow AVF to be selected.
  • You CAN, however, add Tow-Mode Camera (Wired) (XH7) as an ala-carte option along with Safety Group B so you end up with both items included in the AVF package.
    • This ala-carte add-on costs $450, this is what I added to my build. I didn't opt for Trailer Surround View.
I think you may also need the "Trailer Camera Wiring (no camera)" option....so when the camera XH7 is wired on your trailer that wiring harness is able to plug into the trucks wiring harness. What it does is deletes the 7-way trailer connector and turns it into a 12-way connector. I'm pretty sure this is the case. If you didn't add it to your order now and it requires the 12-way connector you can add it later to your truck...just much easier if it comes wired from the factory. This happened to many of the guys that ordered the 2019's when they first came out with the so called wireless trailer camera...when it finally came out as a Mopar accessory it was a wired camera......they added it later. I'm trying to confirm through my dealer in PA.

Volume.

Dealers get incentives too. Sell more, make more. For orders, they're not carrying any inventory. They're giving up the full holdback +.

Their discounts are not out of line for a volume dealer. I got 11% off not including incentives dealing locally so 13-14% off a larger volume dealer is reasonable. Add back in your transportation and/or travel costs and you might be closer.

There are probably a hundred or more completed deals that Aaron @ Mark Dodge has done on both 5thgenrams and HDRams. Caution is always advisable but it's a bit extreme to start accusing these folks that have been conducting business on these forums for quite some time of being sleazy. If you don't trust the process then buy somewhere else but keep the FUD and insinuation that Aaron or Sandi are untrustworthy out of the thread.

I did think about this, but the 12 pin connector is totally separate if I'm correct and is used for the Trailer Surround cameras which are analog feeds to the Uconnect screen. I think the Trailer Tow offering has different connections that go directly to the rear view mirror. Hard to say until someone gets one of these.

At least, this is what I gathered reading some previous posts by @Jimmy07

I think there's something to be said for caution, especially when it comes to the internet sales, especially one of this magnitude. That said, I never had any question about the authenticity of Mark Dodge and their process. Any back and forth I had with Sandi was about my own questions and how to get the build I wanted. The price was always the price, and a damn good one. She patiently worked through several iterations with me. When deposit time came, we spoke on the phone as I absolutely will not put any of those details in an email. If there is an issue, I'll dispute the charge, but I think that's highly unlikely. If this was a scam, it's a virtual certainty it would be on this board, and elsewhere. And in the unlikely event that's true, there will be a lot of really upset people -- and I certainly would warn others, and I think everyone else here that shares our love of these vehicles and what we do with them would also warn us if they felt there was a problem.

I don't think that's the case here. They deal in volume, don't have to pay to keep a vehicle on the lot. It's a guaranteed sale unless the buyer backs out, thus lower overhead.

Plenty of people from ram groups who have bought from them. When I initially did my research on who to order from they were the ones who kept popping up with great reviews. I emailed Aaron and Sandi emailed me the next day. Would of loved to buy it up here in PA but these dealers refuse to come down from MSRP. It’s worth the drive to me.

Same here in AZ too! Which made it all the more funny that Chapman is asking people to give them a shot even though they won't match anywhere near the Mark Dodge pricing, lol

I hear you! Mark Dodge is also beating everyone else on trade in value on my 2020 1500. By about $1,800! I really tried to avoid the 19 hour drive both ways.. But the extra I’m getting in payoff and discount off msrp is about 10k.

Like I mentioned earlier I would much rather support & stay local and if it was within $1k or so I would have but there is no way in hell I'm forking over an extra $9-10k because local dealers are absurdly greedy. I have a very big disdain for car dealers and despise the whole experience when it comes to buying a car. And then to see a local person coming on requesting people to give them a shot and still not wanting to deal, why bother??

To be fair, I would have ordered from Chapman at 2% under invoice and avoided having to worry about getting the truck from Louisiana.
