2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

It's not supposed. The Premium Leather Limited seats are real leather and a big step up. You also get leather dash and trim and the directional LED Projector lights. Wood/Leather steering wheel.

If you got into it for only $1,100 more, you did good. The seating and lights are worth it.

That's great to hear! I've had a really hard time getting clear & decisive answers from sales people when inquiring about what comes in the packages, what's gained or lost, what needs to be added back in because I made a change and something may have dropped off that I didn't know about. It's been about 9 years since I last bought a brand new vehicle and sadly the whole dealership experience hasn't improved one iota and if anything it has only gotten worse then further compounded by covid and all of the implications that has brought with it to all of the various industries.

I finally got an email out to Sandi today and have a good feeling she will get me pointed in the right direction as others have had great luck with her helping them out.

She works Monday-Saturday from what I know so you probably won’t hear back until mid day tomorrow.

ZOption, can tell me more about the deal you were able to secure from Mike at Lakeland and his responsiveness? Honestly, I emailed him twice over the past two weeks and called on Friday but never got a response on my inquiry for a factory order.
I would try him around 10 am eastern time. I could tell he is really busy over there. He'll get you a good deal. But prices may be going up considerably, so there are no actual numbers yet or prices.

So no 10 speed trans this year?

No, and I wouldn't expect a 10-speed behind the Cummins. Highest probability is the 8-speed ZF, perhaps a 9-speed.

If they can get the torques numbers up, the ZF demonstrated is a great trans with 2nd gear unloaded starts, skip shifting, and rolling shifts (R to D without stopping).

There's been some scuttlebutt that Allison was played for pricing, the current A1000 is a GM built tagged Allison and Allison has been said to be 100% focused on the Mil and commercial builds, so I think at this point an Allison is a longshot.

Many think there should be a single trans and the HO should be offered in the 2500 and/or be the "standard" engine. Unless they can get the MPG better, I don't see them dropping the SO.

I wonder how many 22’ orders Sandi has done off this forum alone? She was the only one still offering the good deals that the Washington and Idaho dealers used to.
She got my order this morning. I really enjoy working with her. She's super responsive to all of my emails.

This is actually pretty good news to my ears. I had figured things would remain status quo, meaning the 68RFE and Aisin would stay, with perhaps a bigger change in the trans for 2023. Brutal, it sounds like you think the ZF 8/9 speed is more likely than the current 6 speeds staying? Hoping we find out definitively soon.

No trans changes for 22’

That’s what I’ve gathered from this forum, but Brutal’s comment had my hopes up a little. Perhaps he was referring to 2023

I was. You have to take the comment in the context of the quoted post that asked the rhetorical question "So no 10 speed trans this year?" although technically my "no" response was a double negative and could be taken as a Yes.

anyway... no new trans for 22. Perhaps 23 or whenever FCA decides to plop the 5th gen cab on the HD.

Just joined and might have missed it, but I'm ordering a new 2500 4X4 crew 8'ft bed once it's available to order in a few days.

Was there any changes to the 2022 2500 front end / body style?

It may or matter to you, but check the payload capacity out for the 2500. I’m stepping up to a 3500 from a 1500. The payload isn’t much different between the 1500/2500. Had it not been pointed out to me I probably would have went 2500

I got ya, I'm coming off of a 2012 ram 1500 max tow 8500lbs, payload around the 1930lbs 3.21 axle.

2500 im looking at should be the 3530lbs payload with 16520lbs max tow.

3500 little over kill for what i need.

I've been digging into the 3.73 vs 4.10 axle and i'm still on the fence. I've read every forum discussion about it. Still not sure what to do.

If I go with the 3.73 I will give up towing capacity down to 14k lbs. But read i'll get better MPG.

I barely drive my truck as it is and my 2012 ram 1500 had 88K miles on it, so 9 years old and under 10k miles a year.
I tow a 30' TT and looking to go bigger. any one have tips for real work MPG for the 3.73 vs 4.10

if its minimal I really don't care.

I suggest reading through all the stories of people with TTs going through multiple tow vehicles because of the need to up towing capacity. we have a 21 foot KZ Escape that weighs less than 5000 lbs at max capacity, but my wife wants a 5th wheel and we would prefer to buy once, cry once, so we ordered a 3500 dually with the HO diesel. The limiting factor with towing almost always seem to be exceeding tongue weight and tow vehicle max payload, not the weight of the TT. We don't need to drive that much since I can work remotely around 80 to 90% of the time, so the mileage factor is not a big deal. Plus, our other vehicle is a Tesla Model S with unlimited free supercharging. If you need the truck as an every day driver, your trade-offs will be different.

You ought to be looking closely at a 1 ton.

Are you talking about getting a diesel or gas?
