2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

Over in 2021 build thread, it looks like they're down to 4-5 weeks from order to delivery. I placed my 2022 order on 5/12, it was accepted and is in D status.
So why would it not be until late July that they start 2022 production? Wouldn't they roll from the 2021's into 2022's and keep the same production lead times going - or do they have to shut down the line and re-tool?
Where are you getting the order updates? Calling dealer? All I have is my VON number.

Anyone work with a Texas dealer for a great price on an order? Figure if I’m willing to fly to WA or LA or ID might as well look into Texas too.

don't know how long it actually takes to get the VIN, but I waited 3 weeks, asked my dealer and they had it.
This is going to feel like the longest wait ever. Taking my current 1500 to carmax Saturday since the price is right. I’m guessing it’s going to at least late September if we are lucky.

How long did it take to get a vin?
Usually next day it seems like. Ping Sandi and she’ll send you a copy of the build that shows the current D status and the VIN.

That’s what I thought they would do too. But they shutdown the plant, retool, then start with chassis and fleet orders I think. There are a couple of posts that show the tentative dates for start/stop times.

I’m in central TX but have only gone to one dealer in Austin area. After hearing Mark Dodge was making deals I didn’t bother trying to work down local dealers. I’m only ~5 hrs from Lake Charles, LA.

I had no luck in the greater Houston area, on either price reductions for '21s or ordering a '22. I just finalized this order with Mark Dodge a few minutes ago.

Ram Chat had my VIN today.

They said it is in scheduling, I said so BX and they said its passed that and the parts are being "scheduled" and as soon as that happens it will be scheduled to build and ill have some dates at that point.

It's in the same status (I think it's D status?) as everyone with a 2022 order.

I think it's safe to follow the schedule that has been posted a few times in this thread for a July 26 production start date. Still 8 weeks out for production to start.

And assuming 7-8 week delivery puts 2022 custom orders HOPEFULLY arriving mid to later September. Maybe we’ll see some lot orders show up sooner to check out the few new features.

Every supply chain across all industries have been wrecked right now so I'll be extremely happy if there are minimal delays and I get my truck by end of September.

Agreed. I think Sept is best case scenario at this point.

I think they usually shut down to retool make updates. But we’re in crazy times now so who knows.
