2021 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your order here!

I finally have a build put together and thought I would run it past you guys before I proceed to see if I left anything off. I am going with a Hemi because I won't be towing anything huge, but will likely get a travel trailer in the high 20' up to 30' range in the near future and want to be set with a truck that will last me many years. This also will not be a daily driver so it will not get a lot of use except for going on trips, likely averaging only around 5k-7k miles per year so hope to keep it at least 10-15 years. That is also why I went with the 4.10 since people in the forums seem to say you can't go wrong with it, I probably won't miss out on MPG that much since I won't be using it that much. I left off all of the safety stuff because that may lead to more delays and none of my vehicles have it now so I probably won't miss it. I did add the Tech Package though because I think I really like that 12 inch screen the more that I see it and like the LED lights as well. Let me know if you recommend any other options that you find useful that I may have left off.

2500 Big Horn Crew Cab 6'4" Box
6.4L Hemi
Anti-spin differential
4.10 Axle ratio
Off road package
Decal delete
Bed utility group
Night edition
Big Horn Level B Equipment Group
Night Edition
Tech Package
Black painted wheel to wheel side steps
Rear wheelhouse liners
Mopar floor mats

MSRP $60,750

Ya, I got forward collision & stopping, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot trailer monitoring, and trailer backup cam safety stuff just because I travel a lot for work with a trailer. Even got the backup alarm because I work at schools and fairgrounds pretty often. If yours is only getting a few thousand miles a year instead of being a regularly used work truck, all the safety stuff probably isn't needed. As far as delays... yes. I ordered a 2500 Laramie in January, still no info on the delivery date yet.

Order: 1/11/2021. 15 weeks now.
3500 HO CCSH fully loaded, night package, pearl white, tonneau cover.

Ram Care this morning:
"I apologize the order has not progressed from its previous status. It is still pending installation of additional equipment. I have not receive any information as of yet as to what features are still pending to be installed. As soon as I receive any information I will let you know"

Getting pretty sick of this waiting game.
My build was similar minus the tonneau cover and night package ordered Jan 10th and it was held up at the body vendor 3.5 weeks but I did have all the extra safety stuff so my dealer told me that's what held it up. Finally picked it up last Friday.

Got word from my dealer my truck was in Pittsburgh PA today, on rail car yet and headed to truck depo for delivery shortly. Ordered 2.8, so 11 to 12 weeks from time of order to delivery.. considering some of the other stories I guess not bad for a maxed out Limited. Can’t wait!!!!

I believe so. 4:10s are the way to go with the 8 speed transmission in my opinion.
That is what it sounds like on here too: you aren't losing much if anything in MPG and you get quicker acceleration when unloaded and can tow more.

The only other thing that I saw that might be useful is the trailer TPMS, but I don't know. Maybe the bigger alternator but I won't be adding a bunch of accessories or anything so it doesn't sound like that is necessary either. I guess all that minor stuff adds up! I was almost tempted to go to Laramie but with all this stuff, it raises the price over $3k. For some reason, getting the 12 inch screen on the Big Horn is a lot better deal when included in a package and on the Laramie it is a separate $2k charge. Tough to choose between the Laramie leather and the Big Horn cloth too, but I think the cloth may have been slightly a little more comfortable to me. It is a tough decision!

As an update to my order

April 26th - D1 status
Estimated ship date of May 15, 2021

Will update when build sheet populates.
Nice to see progress on a Canadian order! I ordered 1 day after you (Calgary, AB) on 2/27. Still in D status myself but you have given me new hope!

Ordered a 2021 3500 4x4 Long Bed SWR HO Laramie with most options, Blind spot, Adaptive Cruise, auto level air, Night Edition, 12.0 Uconnect, 17 speakers, all cameras... Loaded. Ordered on 12/21/20, picked up last night (4/27/21). Slooooow, with all the extras. THANKFULLY, I ordered a while ago, so I got all options I ordered to include 2 key fobs. My dealer is telling me new orders placed right now won’t get 2 key fobs or a bunch of the options I ordered. Even though I am in the US, feels like I live in Canada. I feel for those guys having to wait 6 months. This took forever it seemed like. I kept my last Cummins 18 years. Hope to do the same with this one.

Thanks for the post! Such a nice truck. Congratulations! Sounds like it took you about 18-weeks. I'm on week 15 now. Same truck as you just a short bed. Can't wait.

Holy crap that's a huge camper on your truck !
Yes it is. It is an Eagle Cap 1165 with two slides. It is amazing how much room inside when it is opened up. Not your typical truck camper. The floor on these campers are above the bed rails so makes for a ton more room. We really enjoy it.

Took delivery Sunday and on Monday they called and said they needed the truck back within a couple hours to claim transport damage. They sent a driver the house and picked it up. No word as of now. I used uconnect and saw it was at a local body shop so who knows.... Hopefully get some info soon. Need to get B&W installed for gooseneck for a haul this weekend and still need to get some miles on it for break in period but don't want to drill a hole in the bed due to the cab and bed not lining up. Super fun.

I will say the couple hundred miles I drove on Sunday was great and I like the HO/Aisin feel. Def a monster compared to the 16 2500 I let go.
Still waiting to take the truck. Truck has been at the body shop since the 19th. Hoping to take delivery soon. I do know it had two keys so that a positive... Guess they have to put the truck on the frame machine in order to verify then fix the cab/bed. I don't know. Brutal wait so long then see with dings, dents and scratches.

Yeah, thanks... I know with the excitement it is so hard to have to wait. I shouldn’t have sold my old truck back in December. I’ve never been this long without a truck, so was super pumped to finally pick it up. It didn’t disappoint, thing is Soooooo smooth and quiet compared to my old 2003. It’s worth the wait, just wish Ram wouldn’t have given me false hopes. Corporate Ram sent me an email with a mid March delivery date and then pushed it out twice and they won’t tell you what the actual delay is other than, “waiting for parts.” Truck ended up sitting at the plant for over 40 days waiting on “parts.” Even my build/veh VIN sticker has a 02/2021 build date on it. It’s the whole “chip” shortage holding things up. All the TV and Video game people bought up the chips during the COVID lockdowns while the vehicle manufacturers didn’t order any while plants were temporarily closed. Now everyone is behind! Bummer for everyone waiting. Hopefully your wait will be ending soon!!!

Well, I got some good news today. I FINALLY have an ETA on delivery to the dealer. 5/3 - 5/17!!

Anyone have any word on May incentives if there are any?

Hello all, first post!
