Ram's Holding Some Late November to Early December (Possibly More) Orders Due to Quality Issue (threads merged)

@Nsf10162 did you get a notice that specifically said it was released? How did you get it (online or dealer?)

I got this email this morning, form letter BS mostly I think but at least it gave me a date range.

For those comparing notes, I placed my order mid November:
We’ll see. My order date was 12/5. The dates on my most recent letter were 3/16-3/22. I guess we’ll find out how accurate they are over the next week or so...

Guess I don't understand how your incentives expire. My dealer and I worked out a price when I ordered the truck. He said I would receive any additional incentives that are offered
from FCA during the time it takes for the truck to come in. I ordered the truck Jan. 28th, he called on Feb. 1st saying that there was an additional $1250 I would save because of the
new incentives for February. Maybe things are done differently up here in Canada.
My dealer said the same. Some Canadian provinces have legistation that deals with vehicle advertising. Here in Ontario they can't do the bait and switch. If they advertise it, you must be able to buy it. With my truck I have had incentives totalling $6250 so far. 5000 plus 1250 bonus. The US may not have the same consumer protections.

Was hoping for the free diesel as in the past but happy just to get the 6250 as well as the employee price.

For me, because I had already ordered in December, the direct mailing I got in February was ok to be added to my negotiated price as long as I took delivery in February like the offer stated. Once we rolled over to March, that offer expired. I called the incentives department for Ram and FCA for North America and they confirmed that if I received the offer after ordering, I could apply it at delivery but if it expired they could not reissue it. It makes sense but still sucks.

My salesman at the dealer sent me a text with the progression of the truck, it shows leaving detroit on Friday at 8:01am. As of this moment, still no word on delivery to the dealer. I think its sitting next to the USS Minnow. It's only a 3 hour trip

My truck is suppose to be here in a week and a half. I'm not going to take delivery on it until I have the answer on why it was sent back to TX. If anyone finds out other than a corporate fluff letter, please let us know. I will do the same.

Just got word, my truck was sent from detroit back to the fn rail yard, probably going back to mexico. This is utter BS. It will be 6 months on March 21

Holy cow, surely not.

Its original destination was the dealership from Detroit, now it is sitting at the holding yard at the rail yard. Nobody knows why. My salesman is so fired up he personally called me tonight after dealer hours to talk about what's going on. Supposedly someone said something was wrong with the active cruise control. Bad computer chips or something.

What makes you think your truck is going back to Mexico? Mine is being detoured to the Jefferson Assembly plant, then back to the rail yard and then to the dealership according to the info that I have.

Did FCA buy (counterfeit) chips from Alibaba?

Sorry to make light of this for those affected, it sucks for sure. I just couldn't resist.

Nah, you're not offending me. Funny though, you post that idea in jest but what are the chances there's some truth in that?

It's been back at the Toledo rail yard since Friday last week, was supposed to go directly to the dealer from the factory in Detroit according to FCA tracking. Figured they are sending it back to Mexico due to no body can tell me when I will see my 6 month build of a truck. Ram cares says next contact will be April 15th

That’s insane. If mine goes back to Mexico/TX again, I will likely cancel my order.

Update from my salesman this morning said my truck was officially back from TX to the rail yard in IL (where it was 6 weeks ago) but no further word on when it will be delivered to the dealership in IN.
What Indiana dealership? Ordered mine in Indiana too.

Tom O’Brien on 96th in Indy. I ordered a Jeep through them a few years ago. What about you?
O’Brien in Greenwood. My 3500 is scheduled to deliver 3/15-29. Didn’t get the call the last two days.....maybe tomorrow. Now that would be nice!

For sure! Good luck! Camping season is coming up fast and I’m definitely ready to get mine!
