Ok, stupid question, but there is a quality level of darn near everything.....products to use and stay away from......me being new, still learning DEF, I have read that Valvoline DEF is good quality, yet, TECH from Wally World is half the price, I have read that DEF quality is "6 of 1, half dozen of the other", is there a better than and any to stay away from, or they all the same??

I have no technical data but I would say run whatever reputable brand you get as long as it is not opened/expired.

I have never used a jug personally, much easier for me to just pump it at a Loves, etc. Never had an issue in 15,000 miles.
 
If it says def it goes in the tank aslong as its not expired it does not make much of a difference
 
FWIW; I use Peak and it isn't too expensive. Seems to last as long as any other brand.

We run Kubota brand DEF in our ranch truck because it's really cheap. 250K on the motor and not a single hiccup so maybe its just as good?

Bought mine in August of 2020..
I have 18K. I used 2 jugs round trip towing a SXS to Colorado....

I used half a tank def 1300 miles one way on the return trip I stopped half way at 1/ 4 tank and put 2 jugs in and then I think one jug when I got home to top off. Towing about 10K that trip.

I figure I will use at least 3 of those jugs in May going 1800 miles to Deadwood towing.

Hmm you seem to use more than me and i tow quite often
 
Figuring 1 gallon of DEF per 50 gallons of diesel...my usage is not bad I guess. I calculated 3 gallons of def for 155 gallons of diesel on a 1300 mile trip.

It's kind of like fuel millage for these trucks...I don't worry to much about it

This stuff i can get it for 11$/ jug at the parts store they give me a decent discount as its usually 17$

Ok now you got me curious...so I looked up my one way mileage....960 miles.
I was average 9 MPG.

960/9= 106 gallons

106/50= 2.6 gallons of Def?

So I used 2 full jugs for sure and maybe not quite a full jug at home to top off if I remember right.

I think that math is right!
