2021 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your order here!

I’m curious, what was the expected delivery for September orders when you had placed it? Not what the dealer said, but actually on your sheet that had your vin?

Ordered 9/14 was quoted 8-10 weeks by dealer

10/15 was told parts were in just waiting to be assembled and the expected ship date was 11/24 right at 10 weeks and normally the truck arrives 3 weeks later. Ok not a problem I expected some delays

11/20 truck was built, out of assembly line, and in for paint

11/24 Truck not shipped, new expected ship date of 12/8 something about protests in Mexico delaying trains so it might come by boat

12/8 Truck shipped I was told by the dealer it usually takes 3 weeks after getting on a train new estimated delivery early January

1/5 No update still call dealer new expected delivery 1/12- 1/26

1/25 Get text from dealer saying truck shipped from railyard (2 hours away) on a truck and should be here the next couple of days.

1/30 contacted useless Ramcares and new updated delivery estimate is 1/28-2/1

20 Weeks is a ridiculous amount of time to wait for a vehicle and I don’t know if its dealers giving false hope or the ram reps telling dealers everythings business as usual. I understand its a pandemic and expected delays with a more realistic delivery time of 12-14 weeks. Almost all of the delays I received were shipping related where the truck was sitting on a lot or weeks at a time waiting to go on a train, or boat, or truck to come to the dealer. I don’t blame my salesperson, because they’re extremely limited in there capabilities, but every time there was a delay it was “Ram has this problem” it was never what Ram is doing to fix the problem. Its not the consumers fault and frankly I don’t want to hear about how Ram decided to build trucks in Mexico and theres protests so my truck is sitting storage lot in limbo while they figure out how to ship it, or theres a delay because they use 3rd party installers for certain options, or they’re too stupid to not bury trucks when they arrive at ship or train yards and I have to wait 3 weeks for it even be considered even after my dealer “hot tagged” it (which i really dont think does anything) to get put on a truck where hopefully its not damaged. I’m just beyond frustrated at this point and I apologize for my rant haha

FCA should of been transparent with buyers, or at least sent out emails to September/October/November orders.

All they had to do was explain the delay and extend the $1500.00 offer and I bet that would satisfy most!

Transparency goes far!

Gotta love these sale people. They are creative. LOL
Of all the excuses to make up why a recall to lower my confidence if there's none. Just called Ram and all they could tell me was that it's approved for shipment but not yet scheduled. Arrived at the rail yard since 1/20 according to my salesman.

What does approved for shipment mean when it was already shipped? do these salesman listen to the words that spew from their piehole?

I was looking over my build sheet this morning, does anybody know what “Special Scheduling Condition VII” means, just curious if anybody else has it on their build sheet

It's an internal code that is applied when the schedulers or another employee at Chrysler (Who has the authority) schedule an order when there isn't allocation or to give an order priority in scheduling. in other words it means the dealer did not have allocation for the truck but it's a sold order and approved for shipment

Ok-thanks

Very similar plans for our PWs. I’m three weeks post order, and still without a VON. Dropping by the dealer on Monday to see what they can provide.

Where are you located? Once we both have our wagons, you should come on out to Nevada and do a little ghost town/mine exploring with me!
I’m in Maryland! I also haven’t received any update yet either but I’m also only 2 weeks into my order.

I hear ya brother, same thoughts I've had for along time and I'm tired of waiting and the B.S. Excuses too.

Seems like the guys who ordered in September got F’d. I’d be at the dealership daily raising hell if I were you! Maybe it’s better to cancel and re order at this point lol. Also I don’t deal with the salesman (or woman) when I go buy a car. I’ll only talk to the sales/finance managers. There’s nothing I hate more than playing the stupid salesman game and knowing more about their product than they do. I like to get straight to the point. Don’t blow smoke up my ***.

Ya, It means your screwed.... LOL Your truck will arrive in 8-10 weeks, It could be longer, possibly as long as 15-19 weeks. But is shouldn't take longer than 20-21 weeks unless there are other issues beyond our control. At which time we will offer you a few oil change discount codes as compensation. Thank You for contacting RAM. Have a good day.

I suppose it means shipping from the rail yard to the dealer. Ram couldn't give me further details.

Can someone who has knowledge of or worked at a dealer in the ordering process explain if there is a benefit to filling an allocation vs. sold order? I honestly believe my order was put in as an allocation 'stock' order (maybe others too) to fulfill allocation. For example, if a dealer doesn't sell their allocation do they lose it the following year? My fear is a stock order gets put on the slow process while a true 'sold order' gets priority.

Thanks

I believe "sold oder" gets priority.
Mainly because my build sheet says sales code - 4EA Sold Vehicle

Dumb question..but does the backup camera come standard on Ram trucks..I’m working up a build
