Does anyones 8.4 reboot for no reason or get stuck on "waiting for connection"?

Mine does this often. I will be driving then all the sudden the music goes off, I look at screen and its blank. It then reboots and works. It does this at least twice a week.

Also, other times I will turn on my truck and it never loads and sits on waiting for connection. It then reboots and works.

Hi, I'm sorry to hear this. Please let me know if you plan on visiting a dealership for this concern. I would be happy to open a case for you.

Alison, I am planning on going in next month for Oil change and Tire rotation. The only issue I see here is that most always a dealer has to see the problem before they are willing to fix it and mine is such a random thing there is a good possibility it will not do it for them while there.

Thanks for reaching out to me but any ideas on how I can get this issue looked at?

I understand your concern. If you experience this concern again, please try to note the conditions that it occurs in. Any video evidence you can capture of it occurring would also be very helpful for your dealer.

Update. Dealer updated the firmware on my system and after a month it has not done any of the issues I was experiencing before the update.

I think they found and fixed the issue for my 8.4!

Thanks for the follow-up. Do you happen to know what version you are on now that fixed the issue?

Mine did it 3 times to me and all 3 I had my iPhone plugged in. It was weird as the bottom screen went black but the top did not for a few seconds, then the top/Iphone portion went black and the whole thing rebooted. Has not done it since though..but was 3 in one day..

Interested here also. Mine is a 50/50 chance on if I don't have to wait anywhere from 30 sec's to 5 minutes for the XM to work when I start the truck. When I had the truck in for the VB6 recall about 6 weeks ago, dealer could not duplicate (can they ever?), and there was no software update, according to them.

Mine does this funky thing too at random times maybe once every week or two when I have it on for a long time, like a few days. And every once in a while while I have my Android Auto on, the google maps gets stuck. unplug, good on phone, plug back in, still stuck in the same location. A full restart of the truck usually fixes it, just annoying when you are not stopping for the next 3-4 hours lol

I also don't get wifi to work if I start then stop the truck in a short amount of time. It says 4G but I get password incorrect errors. If I shut the truck off and wait 15minutes or so(assuming a full system shut down) then I usually get it back...

I've had this same restart issue 3 times in the last week and the truck is only a month old. Likely more times than that as my eyes are usually on the road. Going into the dealer on Tuesday for a couple other issues and I'll have them look at this as well.

I have also had this issue. Very infrequently though, maybe once every month or two.
More frequently (maybe once a week) SiriusXM takes a few minutes to load.
I’ve also had the camera system be “unavailable at this time” maybe 4 times in a year. This is the most frustrating issue.

Mine does this maybe once a month or slightly more frequently. Usually takes it about 5 minutes to do whatever it is doing.
