2020 Vanleigh Pinecrest. About 35’ length and 14k GVWR. It’s our first 5er and we are taking it out on weekends to get a routine down and work out any issues before embarking on some long distance excursions.

2021 Forrest River Aurora 28BHS. Pulled it a few times in the flats with that Chevy and it kicked its ass. 7600 GVWR. Chevy was rated for 9100. Specs schmecks. Even with a good E2 WDH on there the tail wagged the dog. Temps went crazy just around town. Mirrors were useless.
The quintessential cart was put before the proverbial horse, if you will.
Hooked the new RAM up to it and I just started laughing multiple times on my short trip. The 2500 Cummins is incredible. I was nervous to take that big trailer out in the country before. I figured I would spend much of the trip stressed and white knuckled behind the wheel. The RAM has changed that 100%. Now I'm ready for the Ike gauntlet

How's that 3rd axle treating you? My buddy has had a lot of issues with the 3rd axle on his 2018 42' 5th wheel. Broken axle, 5 flats so far. He's getting rid of it.
I did not set out to buy my 2013 RAM 2500 diesel in 2014. It appeared for sale when my 1998 Chevy 1500 5.0 v8 was running on 5, or sometimes 6, cylinders. It was priced well and we had been talking about a camper of some sort for years.
We found a 33ft toyhauler was okay with the 2500. Then I learned more about weights. I was about 90% capacity of the 2500. But it hardly squatted and the Cummins pulled it well.
I liked it so much that I bought a 2020 RAM 3500 to be able to handle a heavier trailer in a couple of years. I shopped Fords and GMC. But the RAM Tradesman diesel was outfitted nicely for $10k less.

We were near there last summer. We spent a few days at Rogers Rock. That was the trip that made it clear I needed a heavier truck!
