You have 4 years and 40K miles to buy the OEM/Mopar Max Care Service Contracts, you have no pressure to buy today. You can get the service contract (incorrectly called a warranty) for about half of MSRP by purchasing from one of the mentioned locations. The cost does go up $100 after you buy the vehicle and add the warranty later, but you do not pay tax, so you save more than $100 buying later from that perspective. Also, if you finance it into the loan at time of purchase you pay interest on that portion of the loan as well. Save yourself up a couple grand and buy it cash 2-3 years later by calling Ziegler or Tom Winkles... Do not finance it.

Do not buy an aftermarket plan. It could be fine and work great, or it could screw you. Buy the Mopar service plan as it acts very similar to your original 3/36 warranty. You'll have a deductible that you choose (per occurrence) and a time/mile limit, the LIFETIME no longer exists. What a shame, I have the lifetime Mopar service contract on 2 vehicles. I would absolutely buy that again if buying a new loaded $70K truck that I was going to keep a while!

There are a small group of dealers who discount these Mopar OEM plans, Ziegler was mentioned earlier and the other I have purchased mine from is:

Now, if they still offered the 'lifetime warranty' I would get it for the 2500... I had it on the 1500 I traded.

Aye. Essentially it would be a 5 year/86,000mi coverage of the "bumper-bumper" and that has me intrigued. I'll see what kind of price I can get out of them for that. I'd love to have this RAM for the long haul. Exceptional vehicle.
 
I got a policy though my credit union that friends have used at the dealership without issues. I wanted it for coverage of the electronics mostly for my 2020 3500.
 
Wish I could get a extended warranty, But driving 2,500ish miles a week. Would burn thru it within a year. Just gotta do good preventative maintenance and save some $$$$ for when it needs work done.
 
I'm in YYC as well. And a diesel tech. Personally it's a catch 22 if you don't have it you'll get a lemon and if you get it you'll never use it. At the end of the day personally I'll just not buy extended warranty. But piece of mind is a nice feeling. Especially if it's your business truck. mxplayer

I recently purchased a Certified 2019 2500 Limited Cummins. I did not elect to get the extended warranty at the time of the purchase. Am having second thoughts now as I am already having some issues. Any recommendations on purchasing an warranty now ? I think I can still add to the RAM warranty, also someone mentioned a company called Ziegler offers a good one. Any opinions on them both, also any ideas what they should cost ? Thanks in advance. JM
 
Ziegler offers the FCA/MOPAR Warranty and generally have the best price...unless you live in a state like Flori-duh where they are regulated and you have to pay full price.

Also, the extended warranty runs concurrently with factory warranty...you'll want to check how that would work with the Certified warranty.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I do currently live in Florida, (planning a move to Texas but not for a couple of more years) so I will have to check with the local RAM dealer. Curious if you know if there would be different prices from other RAM dealers for the same warranty. The Certified Used Car warranty extends the bumper to bumper factory warranty by 12 months or 12,000 miles. I would like the extended warranty to be 10 year or 100,000 miles if that is an option. When I go back to pick up the truck hopefully next week I will be talking with them about it all.
 
No dealer anywhere will offer you a lower price because you live in Florida, all service contracts are treated as insurance contracts are regulated.
You are certainly welcome to try (and I wish you the best of luck), but I had zero luck when I purchased it for my 1500.
I didn't get it for the 2500 as they no longer offered the lifetime/unlimited mileage plan.

I don't know how MOPAR extended warranty will work with the Certified Warranty, but I expect it would be the same in that it would run concurrently.
 
Does anybody know if the Mopar Max care extended warranty covers the complete rear auto level suspension, including compressor? Also, is the Mopar extended warranty refundable via a pro rated basis like the Ford extended warranty is? Thanks
 
If you live in Florida you can buy an extended warranty in other states. For example, I bought an extended warranty from the MFG for a new Land Cruiser I have in New Jersey for 1/2 of Floridas mandatory full price. The dealer was a member of the Land Cruiser forum. I haven't looked on any FCA forums for dealers selling the warranties. You can buy it from any dealer in any state and it's a National warranty so next trip you take. Call dealers in that city and buy from one out of Florida.
 
My credit union offered me an extended warranty. My friends have used that warranty at the ram dealership. Same coverage as RAM 36 month warranty extended out for 7 years 100k miles. I did it mostly for the electronics.
 
When I shopped mine, Chrysler Warranty Direct beat Ziegler by a fair amount. YMMV

Well, you can.. but at that point you are claiming to live out of state and have to provide an out of state address.

That is not true. Other states are not obligated to Florida law. You can buy it in any state but Florida as long as you are there in person. That is like saying you can't buy Fireworks in a state because your home state does not allow it.

You might want to review that. Insurance companies are gulated by the states. If you file a claim in Florida, and they find you are a resident of Florida, do not be surprised if your claim is turned down because you provided false information.

Apparently you're not understanding... if you reside in Florida, and your vehicle is registered in Florida, then yes... the company *must* abide by Florida law concerning 'warranties'.
The only way to get around this is to lie and claim you live in another state when in fact, you do not... @RV_Goose is correct... hope you never have to file a claim... cheers.
 
Been researching some extended warranties just in case I keep this truck past 36k considering some of the issues I've had. What have other purchased for extended warranties once they've already had the truck a year or so or were approaching 36k?

I never buy any extra warranty they are one of the biggest scams in the automotive world
