I just called my local RAM dealer--the Service Advisor states they charge $250-$270 (NOT including tax) to do an Engine oil and filter change. He said that is using "conventional" oil (he did not mention what brand oil).
I can do my own (using Rotella T6 full synthetic and Mopar oil filter) for $125 (tax included). And I KNOW it is done right.
When they get the Fleetguard engine oil filter fiasco worked out--I will be able to do it for $95 total. Right now I am forced to pay $50 for the Mopar brand oil filter.

Not worth my time to get oiled up on my floor. Independent shop is just under 200.00
SolidAxleorBust,
I hear what you are saying--Under $200 is better.. I have not checked with another shop in our area--there probably is a cheaper one. I know when I do it--it is done right. Plus, the 2025's are easier to change oil filter than the previous Cummins generation.
And lastly, I think is extremely important to change oil much more frequent than 15K miles due to potential hydraulic lifter issues. (Personally, I change mine every 5000 miles.) Hopefully the 2025's will NOT have any type of lifter issues...

I am a gasser, since I use a PW. But I went with straight by the monitor changes on my 2018, for my 2026 I pick up next week I will go in at 25% left on the monitor. Not replaced lifters, but they are noisy.

ok...I got you... I cannot speak to a gasser--I have never owned a Ram gasser... This 2025 Ram 2500 is my 5th Cummins in a row.
Congratulations on picking up a 2026 next week!

Do it right, using better oil and filter, and save yourself a ton of money by doing it at home.

The Mopar filter is bottom shelf anyhow, and there shouldn’t be any conventional oil options for the 19+ Cummins engines. 5W-4 is a full synthetic and 10W-30 is at least a semi -synthetic.

Keep your receipts and document the oil change on the Ram app.

Unless you’re pulling the oil change early the fuel filters are done on the same schedule.

I pay my dealer $75.00 to install my oil & filters, don't use T-6 as it does not do well in my engine as it has high fuel dilution, I also don't use cheap Mopar branded oil filters...

EDIT: Oil dilution/contamination not fuel, I must of had a brain fart when I typed that one  the point I was trying to convey is T-6 does not hold up very well in my engine due to the high amounts of fuel that gets into my oil...

Oil doesn’t make fuel

Is there a better oil filter for the 2025+ 6.7 other than the Mopar/Fleetguard?

I’m not aware of any other filter for the 25+ Cummins. LF16453 has the specs of the previous generation Stratopore, but it’s a cellulose filter.

Hopefully Donaldson comes out with a cross using their DBL media soon.

Performing my own oil changes and other maintenance myself on my ‘22. The ‘25+ oil changes is super easy with the oil filter located in the engine compartment. Amsoil 10-30 and Fleetguard filter #16035 to my door step is $115, and an hour of my time changing the oil. I let the oil drain for about 45 min. Take oil and filter to Auto Zone or O’Reilly’s for free disposal.

Correct. I have made a lot of phone calls trying to cross reference oil filter for 2025--- The ONLY manufactures I have found are Mopar and Fleetguard. At the moment we are stuck with paying $50 per Mopar filter--ridiculous....

Plan ahead and order all of your filters from Geno’s.

Thank you but already a step ahead--I have been trying to order the Fleetguard oil filter from Geno's since July (they are $20.95 each)---they have been on backorder and still on backorder until 11/28/2025. They do have the Mopar brand for $49.95 (made by Fleetguard in a Mopar box and a Mopar part #). I have been ordering (1) Mopar oil filter at a time until Fleetguard's become available--then I will load up....

I don’t consider paying for quality parts ridiculous.

Hi Rich, I am saying it is ridiculous paying $50 for a Mopar filter that is made by Fleetguard. (They are the EXACT same filter---I have confirmed this with the Tech guys at Genos Garage), Especially when you consider the Fleetguard is $20. Of course, the Mopar brand filter is even higher at the dealers...

I always change my oil myself. I bought 6 gallons of Delo XSP 5W40 from Advanced when they had a clearance for under $9 per gallon. I also added a fleet guard filter from Geno’s, bringing the total cost to about $45 per oil change, including tax and shipping. I’ve also used VPBE and Delvac 5w40.
