So, 2024 Ram 3500. im tired of her whining.

Current complaints are as follows

- Its too tall
- It makes me car sick
- It sways from being so tall
- Rides to rough
- Im even car sicker
- dont talk to me, im going to get sick

I agree it does ride rough as well, its the 3500. What options out there are decent that would maybe let me settle the ride down and make her less car sick due to improved ride? I would like to maintain my current towing capabilities, or even make it better.

Does yours have air ride? If not, airbags maybe. Might soften the ride some.

nope, its the model that rides like a 1964 dump truck on square wheels. Like getting sweet air in vehicle, the 2024 3500 is what you need. aim at that exspansion joint and hold on my friend. make sure your cheeks are not spread on the landing, or it hurts even more.

It's a matter of perception.

Take a plane flight to North Dakota or Wyoming. Approximately 42% of the vehicles are pickup trucks. My guess is that most are HD 4x4's. Women drive and love their trucks in this region no matter if it rides like a horse.

Percent pickups and EV's per state...

What about a seat cushion to put over the passenger seat to help reduce some jarring? Just a thought.

6’’ lift with more leaves added to the rear packs ;)………now for the advice that doesn’t involve lawyers. Full air ride system or full hydraulic ride system. Both are supposed to ride amazing.

The easiest right improvement can come from airing down the tires. The door placard assumes maximum load. Assuming unloaded, take it to a scale and then use tire load/inflation tables to adjust the tire pressures. You can use the chaulk method but scaling it is easier and faster. My 2021 dually rides great when I air down the tires when the truck is unloaded. Also a dose of dramamine will help with the nausea as well as make her sleepy (quiet). LOL

absolutely not!
Driver is not typically the one to get seasick. She's passive-aggressively commenting on your driving.

You can go down the path I went with softer springs and swaybar, but it kinda depends on what other tasks the truck has. Tire pressures are free.

Have you tired Bumble or Tinder for a different model?

Something tells me there are going to be complaints regardless….

It rides rough because it’s the 3500 without auto level.

What are you running for tire pressure? What are your axle weights?

What do you tow? What are your loaded weights?

Since you didn’t get a truck with auto-level there isn’t much you can do without modifying the stock springs. You could go full custom leaf packs out back plus airbags for loaded support and .5”-1.5” front springs to soften it up a little.

Leave her at home. Hahaha
Seriously though, test drive other makes and years of one ton pickups. Maybe you’ll find one that rides a bit softer.
Do you really need a one ton?

Is she complaining with it loaded and unloaded? I haven't towed with mine yet, but I can definitely agree with other that airing down will help a lot. I've got my rears in the 50psi range and the front around 60psi.

The look my family gave me when we drove the truck home with dealer 80+psi at all corners was like "what did you buy?!" :p

My wife's response to this lol, is get a new wife.
Its tough, my wife is disabled so getting in our 3500 is a no go, I pick her up into the truck, getting out-she is ok, swings her legs out and gently slides out and hangs on to the door and B pillar to keep stable and stay upright until I get her walker or wheel chair ready, I also run 45Psi tyre pressures when unloaded to help with the ride quality.

1. Buy another vehicle to drive when your not towing/hauling. No reason to be driving a 3500 if you dont need one or use it anyways.

2. Lower tire pressure.

3. Dramamine

4. Tell her be quite or stay home.

5. Get a new wife who doesnt complain.

That’s a tough scenario if she’s disabled and you need a big truck for towing. Power steps might help with the “in and out” part. As far as the ride goes, I’m going to look into is a water ballast or something for the bed to soften the ride. This way it’s not permanent and I can drain it when I need the bed or extra payload capacity. Would a 2wd drive be an option for you? Maybe that’s softer or at least lower?
