What did you do TO your RAM today?

New cheap Amazon winch bumper installed.

Would not recommend. Horrible gap, tortuous install, and need to trim wheel well liners.

When I remove it to put the winch on, I'll see about drilling new holes in the mounting plates so I can reduce the gap.

Looks like someone punched it and gave it a fat lip.

Too late to send it back?
I can't imagine the hell involved of removing it and breaking it down and trying to get it back into the cardboard boxes to send it back. I just wanted a bumper that had more clearance and provided a solid platform for a winch and lights. It does that and was under $500.

I can get the gap smaller, and will likely spray it with some bedliner product since the factory finish was damaged in a couple of spots during shipping. It's actually a very beefy bumper and I don't hate it.

Not mine and not today (just last week) but here’s the old man’s ‘22. He picked this up about 2 years ago, already had a 2” spacer and 35” Klevers. Needless to say he didn’t really like the ride so when he decided to finally get new tires last week he actually took his son’s advice and ditched the spacer for the 2” Bilstein kit from Thuren. He can’t stop telling how nice it rides now. Oh ya, stayed with 35’s but grabbed some Michelin Defender LTX M/S 2’s. Gotta say, looks better than I thought it would.

This is my favorite thread on all the other forums I’m part of it. I haven’t seen it on this sight. If I’m duplicating, I’ll delete! But here is what I did today.
I put on Diesel Fuel and DEF caps and called about Ranch Hand replacement bumper I’m ordering.View attachment 4679View attachment 4681
Would you post a pic with the ranch hand on? I am thinking about adding it to mine.

I added some side-steps today so I can get in and out of the truck easier. This is not an off-roader, so didn't need rock rails, but also didn't want a design that hung too low or would snag on obstacles since it still will go into the woods.

I really like these...

The other little project was making a temp fix on my cheap front bumper. The new bumper doesn't take into account lower radiator, which I assume is for an intercooler or transmission? So, there was a large opening underneath that would allow road debris or branches on logging roads to get kicked up into the radiator.

So, I had some aluminum scrap pieces from work, cobbled them together, and now the radiator is protected. Without the winch, there is plenty of airflow. But it's only temporary. I will get a bigger and thicker piece of diamond-plate aluminum, bend it more precise, and add much more ventilation holes. The two current ones are where GFCI outlets were installed on our product.

It's been too hot to try and crawl around my new truck. Somehow I got snookered by the dealer and they left their tracking device on the truck. I turned the horn off for locking and unlocking doors with the fob, which bugs the crap out of me. But when I get out and closed the door, the horn honked 4 times. I stopped by my local dealer and they found the tracker and supposedly turned it off, when I got home still 4 honks when I closed the door. I looked under the dash removed the ground wire and no more horn. The weather is going to cool down next week and I should be able to get it removed entirely.

That lower rad is the intercooler and needs to be well protected. A puncture will cause loss of boost pressure and regen issues.

Standard fare is a CJC Intercooler Guard. If you can fabricate one yourself, I'd make sure it's at least as HD.

Your aftermarket bumper is already creating a lot of airflow restriction as compared to factory. Be advised that there's potential for real loss of power due to the limited airflow, which will increase the intake air temp due to less cooling effect provided by said intercooler. Currently, you've nearly completely choked off all airflow through the intercooler.

Update on the damn tracking device on my truck. I posted I disconnected the ground yesterday on the tracker and I was waiting for the weather to cool a little to remove it from the truck. Today I went to start it and I'm guessing the battery is dead from leaving the hot wire connected. The truck wouldn't start and there was dash lights flashing like crazy. I the tracker is as unhappy as I am.

Love my soft topper. Best mod I've done too the 3500 I do believe
So this weekend I camped at the beach. Loading the truck full of gear and coolers with plenty of room left over was easy. The temps here have been around 90 and it didnt become an oven under the topper. When i needed soemthing drom the front of the bed, I just unsnapped the side reached in. So far so good. Im happy with it

I have these on my 1500. Only issue I've had is my small footed daughter stepped up and her foot slipped through that middle hole and scraped up her shin pretty good.

Another update. I went and talked to a stereo shop that does installs and they sent a technician to my house this morning and repaired the wires and everything seems to be back to normal. I did remove and charge the battery overnight, and this old guy almost cried when it fired up!!
