Pitch & Roll Gauges Stuck on "--" or 1° in Uconnect & Evic

Initially yes, but when I spoke to him recently he said it probably wasn't the airbag module since pitch and roll work in his 4th Gen. I don't know if the airbag modules in the 5th gens are a carry over.

Oh Jesus, you did say that upthread and I even commented...

I've slept since... apparently not enough.

I'd invest in getting it operational if possible!
If it's the ABS module, that's gonna be a bit pricey, but even worse, doing that swap is a pain in the *ss with all the plumbing for the brakes.

If it's something a bit easier like a strictly electrical module swap, then it'll definitely be worth it. Maybe the 19's and early 2020's have a bastard airbag module? Maybe there's a different sensor/module elsewhere that needs to be upgraded?

maybe the wizard with info will chime in.
.. and I'll clarify. I'm willing to invest more money than time lol

I'm with you, if it's a quick but a little pricey module or sensor that I can swap out in 20 minutes I'm in.

If it's something complicated like the ABS module, I'm out, I don't need all that extra negativity in my life lol

I can't even get off road pages to come up.

I may have to send my BCM file to @Jimmy07 for help to just get everything set back to factory. I started hacking it long before making a backup was a thing...

Partly also because I enabled to 3 level heated steering wheel option and just don't care for it and need it back to stock.

Another option I suppose is just have my son take it into work and use WiTech to flash the BCM to stock. ?

How do you enable 3 level heated steering wheel?

Also I talked to Jimmy earlier and he said the pitch and roll data does come from the airbag module, so maybe the 19 & 20's have a bastard airbag module.

I'd try a new airbag module if I knew exactly what part number I'd need.

Keep in mind the radio display doesn't properly indicate levels. It cycles through several "on" images, then off.

With a wood Limited wheel I didn't really notice any difference, and the misleading display is kind of annoying.

HEATED STEERING WHEEL:
- ECUConfig 3: heated steering wheel present- YES
- Memory: heated steering wheel present- YES
- Seats A: Heated Wheel Levels- leave as “Not Defined” for on/off, or choose 2 or 3 level
***NOTE*** Make a backup file before you change the wheel levels. Otherwise you can not go back to the on/off “not defined” setting because it isn’t in the list.
- Seats B: wheel material type expansion- TYPE 3

I was starting to wonder if maybe there was a difference between gasser & diesel airbag modules, since Jimmys Pitch & Roll gauges work and iirc he's got a gasser. However i found the part numbers are the same. I did however discover there's been 3 different airbag module revisions/part numbers since 2019, 68399790AD, 68399790AE, and the latest 68428503AA, which started showing up on the 2021's (68399789AD, 68399789AE, and 68428502AA for 2dr trucks). I'm debating if i want to gamble the $370 to try a newer module.

So I found a 68428503AA module on ebay, it came out of a truck that looks like it should've blown the airbags, but for some reason didn't. It was $165 so I pulled the trigger, the module has a manufacture date of 05/2021. I should see it early next week and I'll install it the day i get it and post my results here.

Got the airbag module today, after a little stupidity I got all the codes cleared and the airbag module was getting along with my truck.

Unfortunately still no joy on the pitch and roll gauges... So IDK if it's the ABS module or if the 19 & 20's are missing a connection between the Uconnect and ABS or airbag module.

I know this is dead in the water, but I've still been thinking a lot about it, and it's probably not the ABS module either.

It's gotta be the engine ECU, the 2019 & 2020 ecu's don't put out the data, it's just a feature that's not there. That's also probably why @Brutal_HO can't get hill descent, his 3500 ECU doesn't support that feature, kind of like how manual regen is available on the commercial Cab & Chassis, but it doesn't work on the regular pick up trucks even if you turn it on in the BCM, it's an ECU feature that's just not there.

Maybe a silly question, but what would I need to do on my truck to enable the offroad pages? I have alfaOBD and my truck is a 2019 Ram 2500 Limited CCSB 4x4 with offroad pkg, 12" UC4, adaptive cruise....

Search for off-road in Alfa and there's 2 settings that will pop up that you can turn on.

In other news, I was talking to some guys on Facebook, and the one guy said the steering control module aka the clock spring out of a 2021+ truck should correct this issue. He said upgrading his clock spring on his 2020 made the pitch and roll gauges start working on his UC4.

A new clock spring is only $90 I'll probably give it a shot.

Not really, no joy with the newer clock spring. Haven't really looked into anything else.
I have had similar prob in my dt 1500.
I changed the airbag to a 21 airbag and no change….
I did not try the clockspring.

Someone tried to change the clock spring and what part number should I buy? My truck is a 2020 DT with BCM 22 update and when updating I lost my hill descent even though I updated my shifter to a 2023 model with hill descent.

I changed my BCM to a 2022 and also changed the clock spring for a newer one and some other changes that I liked
