Bilstein 5160 Shocks. Should I or shouldn't I? Any input?

Have you tried calling Thuren? I liked the Bilstein 5100 series I had on my last Ram, but I called Thuren to talk about my 2022 and what their options were. Ordered a kit from them based on their knowledge. Call them and see if the fox 2.0 or overland shocks would help you out. The Kings are a lot more money and a huge wait…but pick their brain to see what options they suggest.

Drop them all down to 35 and try it again.

Also vary the speed on the bad road at least 5 MPH up and down and see if that makes a difference.

Start by lowering your tire pressure to say 40 to 45 PSI and see how she rides. No need for 60 plus PSI unless you are carrying a max load, and even then, that's still too high.

What did you use to change the TPMS alert? I've struggled to find a controller that works on the 2021 PW.
 
Thanks for the recommendations. I'll give Thuren and Carli calls to see what they say about my situation. I don't want/need the most elaborate or expensive setup. I'm just trying to smooth out the ride a bit as it's very uncomfortable for passengers as we bounce together down the road. lol
 
I have 295/60R20 Ridge Grapplers on my '21 2500HD and was having quite the shudder/vibration in front the suspension. Truck has 33k miles and like another poster on here said, it seems unusual to be replacing suspension components but when you put on a bigger, 10 ply, stiffer tire, you have to make adjustments. I went with the Bilstein B8 5162 front leveling kit amd wow. Huge difference. I will be replacing the rear shocks with the 5100s as well and I can't wait for the results. I say do it!

Why the f**k does that matter?
Id prefer this instead of people posting repetitive questions/post that have been asked, answered or talked about in the sub already, at least he did his research first. Better than reddit where people are asking the same questions over and over again like "what oil should i run, Is it ok to run this oil" "what gas should i run" "whats this ticking sound" "are these idle/drive hours ok" "whats mods should i do" "whats your mpg, why am i only getting 16 mpg, mpg in a truck sucks what can i do to improve it" etc. As if google and the search bar arnt 100% free to use where they can find answers faster than creating a whole post.

Plus who knows maybe someone now, (yes 4 years later, can you believe people still need to replace/rebuilt shocks 4 years later? crazy right? ) is wondering or will need to know the same thing as their shock are coming up to be replaced or re built, and now its at the top of the sub thread.

I like the 4600s better but the 5100s are great shocks for an HD truck but I have never ran Fox or Kings so I cant compare but my stock 4600s are due to be replaced jn the rear ill be getting the 4600s again as I'm at 120k km (75k miles~) and they are starting to dampen less.

If i may ask... why do you prefer the 4600 over the 5100? is it just the stiffness?

Knock it off. You tried to make someone feel bad for doing research and finding a thread that actually helped them make a decision on something they needed and is excited to make the new change, and i came in to ask what the point of your reply was and why it mattered how old the post was, but what do you know? He found his answer and thread he was looking for. Thats literally why this forum is here, so people can look through, research and find a thread they need or advice that brings it to the top. Maybe next time just keep scrolling, and dont make comments to make people feel dumb, let alone someone who is clearly new to the here.
 
Anyone got experience with the newer Carli shocks? I think I'm gonna go with their back country level kit. Seems like they build their own reservoir shocks now?

There is very little difference in my opinion but I find the 4600 works better for towing

I was not trying to make anyone feel dumb or bad about anything. Merely pointed out the thread was an old one.

I want to say @H3LZSN1P3R is correct, they are nearly the same shock. 5100 its just designed for leveled/lifted trucks to be adjustable, being slightly stiffer and help the handling. As for the 4600 its essentially just to help upgrade stock shocks from factory.
