Does the exhaust port make much difference? I see this alot more on newer "large bore" revolvers but have not had a chance to try one out yet.
I haven’t shot it yet. I’m excited that I finally got my hands on one. I have been trying to pick one up used for a while because I just can’t drop $1300 on a six shooter. I picked up the 586 l-comp back in 2018 and yes, the porting does work very well. I carry it often. You will need to pick up some Moon clips to speed up reloading.Does the exhaust port make much difference? *only on applicable models. You will need to pick up some Moon clips to speed up reloading.
I have a comp on my 45acp competition build pistol and it does make a good bit of difference on that.I haven’t shot it yet. I’m excited that I finally got my hands on one. Reviews say the “power port” works. I have shot comped/ported guns and maybe I’m just not shooting at a high enough level but I can’t tell much difference. If I was blindfolded (dont do this) and shot a comped and non comped side by side I bet I wouldn’t know which was which.
You are correct. The 586 L comp model can run with or without moon clips. The clips help when reloaded or when you need to recover all your brass after an incident.*only on applicable models.

Great weekend for it.
I still haven’t shot my ported 357 cuz I started my summer with stitches in both thumbs

G26 9mm for me. No carry permit required where I live.
Here in GA a permit or “weapons carry license” isn’t required now that we have “constitutional carry” but having a license does have its benefits still.Must be nice, I just renewed mine yesterday and will have to do it in another 4 years.
