Lets see what you are towing!

Not doubting but that trailer isn’t that big. 14k? I will push the limits of mine (12k) with stone for sure.

Trailer is pretty much 5k empty it’s a pig due to the 1/4” wear plate that was added inside. And the 6.5cubic yards of mulch was really wet as we are in the wet season still so that adds up fast. They scale in and out at this yard. I was surprised as I was expecting to be around 11k

I have had 6ton of quarry A in this trailer before (one mile drive) the axles were not happy lol

Have not towed it yet but just bought up this 37fter to replace the 97. Will be picking it up in 2 weeks. Not sure how the moride pinbox will be with the air ride hitch, that pin box may be traded for a stock one

Unlike a rotaflex or other pivot/bagged pinbox, the sliding MORryde should work well with any vertically air cushioned hitch.

Just signed a deal to trade in my 27' long 2022 Venture Stratus 231VRB for a 34' long 2026 Brinkley Z Air 297. We're selling the house and are going back to full time. Trailer should deliver June 19th, and the house closes on the 20th.

I am looking pretty hard at Brinkley's as well. They sure seem like a quality coach. We pull a Lance 2375 right now and I really like being able to use my bed and lock stuff under the tonneau and also use the racks for kayaks, so I am hesitant to move to a 5er. That said, I like the room of the 5ers. Just curious what your reasoning was for going bumper pull vs. a 5th wheel setup.

I don’t want a 5er for several reasons. I carry spare fuel and recovery gear in my bed under my tonneau, and frequently bicycles on the deck on top of the bed, so changing from bumper pull would make that a no-go.

I don’t want the added 2’ average height of a 5th wheel, as we frequently boondock in the forest and clearance can be an issue with trees.

Additionally, I’m running a 2500 gasser with soft-ish rear springs, and similar sized 5th wheels are significantly heavier.

We’ve looked at hundreds of trailers over the last couple years and nothing has come even remotely close to the Brinkley on quality and style in our opinion. The interior is even higher quality feeling and looks better than the Airstream we had a few years back.

Great info and thanks for answering. I'll need to check out the 297 a little closer.

The dealer we were at had brinkleys they are some really nice units!

Brinkley makes a nice coach for sure. The simple exterior is nice too. I’m over the big swirl stickers they put on everything for the last bunch of years. Most new coaches are going with that simple design as well. I would trade my GD for a Brinkley but don’t even want to start down that path of even more money loss!

Thats why I buy used for trailers and stuff when I can, I let others pay for the depreciation lol.

If you do decide to look at the 297 soon you should be aware that there are two different "versions" of it. Brinkley doesn't make changes on model years, they just make running changes whenever they decide something needs to be changed. They made some major changes to all the 297s built after February 2025, including taller sidewalls, bigger windows, taller entry door, and a much nicer and bigger oven. The pictures on the website depict the new version, while most pictures posted by dealerships are of the old version.

I know you're talking about the RV or you'd get "Macron'd" by the GF for sure.
