The engine won’t hurt itself, so what it runs is what it should run (for stock tuning). I also watch EGT3, which is DPF outlet and will tell you if any passive or active regen is occurring.

DPF DIS and TIM are pointless to monitor as they have been proven to be in accurate on these trucks.

Can you explain why EGT3 will tell me if any passive regen is occurring? The higher the temp the more passive regen is occurring.

I’ll add that I’ve seen small indications of passive regen as low as 600° on EGT3 when EGT 1 is higher than 700°. Since EGT3 is DPF outlet the
inlet and mid-DPF temps would be higher allowing for small amounts of passive regen.

I am so weird about things, the cable running to the CTS3 bothered me where the cable on the iDash is concealed. But function over form, the CTS3 is clearly a better product.
I got my new iDash installed and I need some help with a few of the available parameters:

-On the "emissions" page, I see listed "DPF RG, DPF regen trigger %" but then I also see "PM 1, particulate matter %". What is the difference, and which one gives a picture of the current state of the DPF?

-What is the difference between "LOAD absolute" and "LOAD calculated", and which is a better picture of what the engine is doing?

-I notice there are multiple EGT sensors. Theres EGT sensors 1 thru 5, but then theres also EGT sensors 1/1 thru 1/5. What is the difference?

-Lastly (at least for now), is Trans Temp supposed to available on the iDash? Because depending on which parameter list you read from Banks, one lists trans temp and one doesn't. Can anyone using the iDash on a 2024 confirm if its available on the gauge?

I had an Edge CTS3 that I sold for a dual Banks iDash setup. The Edge had trans temp and torque convertor lock status which I find important and the iDash doesn't. I called Banks last week to confirm the lack of convertor lock status and temp status. Their reply was that it will be added sometime in the future.

As for a EGT temps, I monitor EGT sensor 1 and sensor 3. No idea about 1/1 etc. I also monitor particulate matter %, but can't tell you what that means exactly. After a regen my banks gauge goes to around 40% and then regens again around 95%.

Kinda wish I would have kept my Edge because they've had six years to add lockup status and trans temp as there were available on the 4th gen.
