I called about getting the transmission filter and fluid changed on my 2020 Ram 2500 6.4 with the ZF eight speed transmission.

It has +73,000 miles on it and only about 9,000 miles of trailers towing.

First dealership said $1,000.00 and the second dealership said $2.300.00. Both said it isn’t supposed to or need to be changed.

I think all the aftermarket pans ena the replacement of just the filter vs having to replace the plastic pan/filler each time is that true?

Question do any of the after pans give you a dipstick?

What does the OEM pan/filter coat?

The dealer will say that.. however ZF says to change the fluid.
Dorman 265850 Filter/Pan has a replaceable filter
No dipstick that I know of... just follow the ZF change procedure and it will be full

RockAuto has OEM for $264, Dorman for $159
