Sure, I'll try it. I'll place the order for the overhead and let you know when
I am interested! I have the overhead unit. Wiring adapter is only thing holding me up on this project.Adapter is figured out, and parts are on the way. Let me know if you want to try it.

This is the kit suggested by other forum membersAnyone have the part number for the micro switch for the key fob?
The amazon link is the best wayAnyone have the part number for the micro switch for the key fob?
Thanks, but who knows what size the switch is? Seems silly to buy 200 when all I need is 2. Even though they are only $10. I can pick up just 2 of them from Digi-Key.
The connector for the window switch is only for the switch itself. If you have the base overhead console like pictured below, you will not have the correct connector or linbus wire to plug into the overhead console that has a tailgate release switch- View attachment 18515

If you already have a premium style overhead console, it will be a direct swap to one that has the release switch. If you have a base console, you’ll need a custom add-on harness to be able to swap in a premium one.

Is there an easy way to disable the tailgate function without upsetting the truck?
On the fob or for both the console button and the fob? If just the fob you can desolder the micro switch pretty easyIs there an easy way to disable the tailgate function without upsetting the truck?
What color is your console? I’ll trade ya mine that doesn’t have the tailgate button, for yours.

The tailgate release switch (and button on fob) are disabled whenever the transmission is not in park. Do you have a habit of accidentally pressing the switch in the overhead console while parked or something?Hoping I could pull a fuse/plug or something…

Anyway, pulling fuse F80 will disable the overhead console release switch.
No, the only way to disable the button on the fob is the remove the button from the circuit board of the fob.Thank you, Sir. Doing that will not disable the fob?
My dogs ride back there often, would prefer the feature gone completely.
Will put my boy on it, he’s always soldering on his computer and stuff. Thanks again. No, the only way to disable the button on the fob is the remove the button from the circuit board of the fob.
None of the circuits at the rain sensor, auto dim mirror, or canbus blocks are relevant to the premium overhead console. The harness I build for it is pretty straightforward to install.@Jimmy07 can this be done?
