Hate it that it still hasn’t come in. Ours were built the same day and they are still keeping each other company in Mexico. Good luck in you future travels! Eventually mine will get here…I think
 
I'm curious about delays from the ordering dealer side. Do they have to pay for the truck on order? Does RAM then mark it as sold? Can the dealer back out?

They pay for the truck as soon as it comes off of the production line…your built day. So at the end of every month they pay interest on their loan. I’m guessing they want the truck as bad as we do

So, you would think that an angry dealer might push back at Corporate for interest payments made on undelivered trucks and locked up capital. I wonder what concessions they might get and also wonder if the person who made the order should also get some concessions?

I think the dealers know the process from the get go and expect it. And in the end, they are still making bank!

My dealer told me that they do not get invoiced for the truck until it is delivered to them.
 
I am taking this with a giant grain of salt, but my dealer just emailed me (without me bothering them) that my truck is headed back to the plant (it was JBLD since 2/24, so storage at the outside vendor) to be loaded on a rail car.

@brv10 Anything you can see to corroborate that? VIN last 8 are PG554083.

It does seem like some of the February and March trucks that have been sitting forever are starting to ship out looking at the spreadsheet..
 
I still see JBLD, it still has to back to the plant for QC, then it will go KZ, it has never left the plant, it just went to a storage area.
 
Only when the truck passes inspection and goes KZ, then they are invoiced

I get it. So when the process is working smoothly, there are a lot of happy custom order customers and dealers. When a glitch happens, there are unhappy customers yelling at dealers who can't do much while Stelantis is quietly trying to repair the issue.

That part is way above my pay grade but I do know there is consideration on the interest side, however the locked up capital is certainly a problem!
 
Just bought a new limited instead of the Laramie that I ordered.
Dissatisfied with the dealer and communication regarding potential hail damage.
2 months from build to ship is ridiculous. I think we all are frustrated. I feel for those who have waited longer.

Pick up next weekend

I can't understand why RAM is not able to predictably ship AND TRACK the location of a truck costing $100k. UPS, FedEx and USPS manage to monitor a $10 package every step of the way. It's just plain inexcusable!

My truck got a train ride from MX, inexplicably to the idled Belvidere plant, where it was taken off the rail and has been sitting since 4/21. Nobody, including the very helpful and responsive @brv10, seems to have any insight why it's there or when/how it may be leaving. It would be amazing if it were not so frustrating...

The best the dealer's pleasant and responsive but ultimately clueless sales dude could come up with for a reason was "Yeah, it looks to still be in Belvidere. Our rep mentioned some transportation delays due to the crazy weather out west."
 
My dealer just called me and said i was in KZLD. its been build since 3/31 and not any movement since then. Is that just a delay in shipping then?

Sales, profit, cash. Cash is king! Locked up capital surely puts a bind on a volume dealer with vehicles stuck in hurricane damage review. When I think of all the times I agreed to customer concessions to take the "high ground" on relationships, it feels like it never comes back around. A smokingly low interest rate incentive to the ordering customer would be nice!
