2023 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

My build finished 12/21/23 and sat for over a month. Just got the shipping notification this week (ship date 1/31/2023). Delivery date was initially TBD and I noticed this morning it's 3/7/2023. I've seen some folks on here have the ability to track where their truck is on the rail system, what's the trick to finding that out?

Contact your dealer and get a carrier and rail car number, then follow the instructions in the below link:

The towing capacity for my Rebel showed up for the first time tonight. Looks like what I expected. 61 lbs higher payload and 390 lbs higher towing than my 2020 Limited had and the only thing that had that this doesn’t is a little bit of extra leather and some wood, and the Rebel has a winch. Curious.

Is that weight per axle available from RAM for a new truck. Just curious how the CAT weight would compare?

Just noticed you can’t get a 3500 mega cab SRW with 5th wheel prep package but you can get a 2500 just an interesting thing

With the Laramie, you can still get 5th wheel prep, but not on the limited. Definitely odd how some of the things are restricted. I ordered a pretty loaded up Laramie because I wanted 6 passenger seating and not the center console. I had to have Laramie to get a mega cab, had to have 3500 for the HO, had to have not higher than Laramie to get 6 passenger seating, can’t get power running boards on Laramie for 2023 and could for 2022.

Any movement on your truck yet?

Am I crazy or are the 2023 headlights different in a Tradesman depending on black or chrome grille choice?

Ram just using up whatever parts they have at hand :) Another confirming black bezel on Tradesman headlights without the chrome package, and yet on this one the Ram lettering is chrome and the one quoted above is black.

Dealer confirmed my order status is currently at JBLD. I'm unable to identify this code in the code guide. (link below). I know the truck is at the Upfitter for a spray-in bed liner, side steps, and tonneau cover. Can someone tell me what JBLD is? Thank you.

It’s in Utah waiting for a truck to Idaho. Dealer says a week and a half to two weeks.
Great news. Youll prob be the first rebel posted. Cant wait to see it. I am still waiting for mine to go into production. Should have been 2/2 but that has come and go and status is still d1

I’m thinking that’s likely. Now I just have to cross my fingers that the dealer gives me enough for my trade-in. Still trying to figure out my wheel and tire conundrum too.

Well I received my 2023 Laramie 6.4 from Mark Dodge. I am coming from a 2008 Dodge Ram Laramie 4 x 4. Below are my impressions

2023 Likes
* The Ride - soooo much smother.
* the 6.4L Hemi along with new transmission is strong and silky.
* The new 17 speaker Alpine system is amazing
* Lots of interior storage space
* Had no idea cornering lights would turn on when I turn the steering wheel, nice touch
* Cameras everywhere. - very helpful
* beautiful interior

2023 misses vs my 2008
* The doors - on my 2008, the doors felt substantial. The doors on the 2023 feel flimsy
* speaking of doors - the "catch" as you open a door on the 2023 is awful. The first catch is about 30 degrees opened where you still can't get out. Plus this catch is weak and can too easily be pushed through. Then the next catch is wide open where you hit the car next to you. My 2008 had a solid catch where you had room to get out but the door did not have to go to its wide open position
* brakes - my 2008 had firm brakes that caught. the 2023 brakes are mushy and needs a very firm and long push to get real action
* complicated tech - There is SO MUCH going on with the tech that it is kind of a jumbled mess. Maybe I will get used to it but right now it is tough. For example, when I am pulling into my garage, I would love to find a forward camera button I could easily tap without going 5 menus deep
* Room behind the grill - why why why is there 12 - 18 inches between the grill and where the engine actually starts. Seems like they could have made the truck a foot shorter
* Lifting hood leaves the grill in place making it much harder to reach the engine bay. On the 2008, the grill lifted with the hood and I had a step on the grill to get on to reach the engine bay. And what happened to the engine bay light?

I do love my 2023. But there are some significant elements of my 2008 that I am sorry to see that Ram abandoned.
