What did you do TO your RAM today?

I know that many people are skeptical about intakes and increasing airflow for power, but when tuned and you get down to the brass tax of things I know and enjoy the outcome from things like I just did on my truck a couple days ago.

(Reposted from a private conversation I am in and sent today, which may explain anyone wondering the way it was written).

Got the intake horn, boost tubes and diff cover installed. WOW it made a good difference, very noticeable. Wish I could tell you the difference of just the boost tubes since both the intake horn and boost tubes were installed at the same time. But the turbo spools up near instantly where before there was a definite lag and you could watch the gauge almost struggle to lift itself waiting for more RPM's. Then there is the power difference that I feel and I am able to track by the boost pressure and my butt dyno. Seems now at 12-17 LBS of boost, it has as much torque as it did pre-install at about 20-25 LBS of boost. The sound is also increased, the exhaust sound and intake is now balanced very well.

I am amazed at how the turbo spools so quickly even under light throttle and it feels like the rpms are quicker and easier to modulate with the pedal. The smoothness was the second thing I noticed.. at highway speed and from a dig, the pedal to what the rpms do are so much more inline now. You can audibly hear and feel a difference as well on throttle in terms of shake or lack-thereof. I have been running in tune 4 (+120HP) and it feels akin to tune 5 pre install.

EGT's are approx. 30-45 lower.. boost pressure applies more power at same LBS as pre install. L/100km's have went from 16.9 to 16.4 even with more time on the pedal. Easiest way to put it (which I cannot take credit for as I had the wife drive it after and she said) the truck feels lighter on its feet, less pedal and for less time on the pedal for the same response as before. It is difficult to explain but I intend to make a video as it is clear when watching boost pressures, rpm's and acceleration that there is a noticeable improvement.

I do believe that without the intake horn or without the boost tubes, it would not be as dramatic without doing the whole system as coupled with the CAI I also have. The whole intake system from hot side to cold side is enlarged and has better flow which means cooler/denser air. I know how it feels to lose power from hot air and high altitude and it is similar in the way of someone driving from a hot and high altitude to sea level with cool temp's after these were installed.

skill level 1.5 on the swap. if you do the heater kit, it is helpful to have a vice to get the bulkheads aligned. otherwise, easy peasy. front kit, not so much.
I did the rear on mine immediately but the front I'm waiting until I pull the intake horn and egr stuff since I have dual alts....not looking forward to that one.....

Not today but yesterday. Installed some running boards for the wife. It’s hilarious watching a 5’ tall woman with no upper body strength try to get in. And it’s not lifted or leveled!! I could only imagine putting a leveling kit on it.

What brand?

Finally got around to installing my HornBlaster kit. That was an all day affair. I did the Stealth Spare Tire delete kit, and added the electric drain valve kit and tire inflation kit. It is loud

Hey @AZ Sooner, I’m not familiar with this version. Does the spare tire get relocated into the bed of the truck? I saw “spare tire delete” in your description.

Anyone with larger tires do a gear swap yet?

The 35s with the 6.4 have it struggling to stay in gear when towing at freeway speeds.

I haven’t seen much talk about gear swaps here so I’m guessing just getting the transmission shift points correct seem to do the trick.
