Anybody Have Any Issues with the new HD's yet?

Just went to swap F90 to F91 on my 2020 Laramie 2500 I picked up Friday, so that my 12V plug on the dash would operate with the ignition switch. Not one, zero, notta of my fuses were pushed in all of the way. Several of them actually wiggled when you touched them. Glad I checked. I don't know what it is with FCA about pushing the fuses in solid. I've had this problem with 2 Jeep Grand Cherokees, one of which was having instrument panel flickering until I found the loose fuse(s). Check your fuses and those little relay boxes or whatever they are. They weren't seated all of the way either.

Unfortunately, quite common. 4th & 5th gen Grand Caravan and a 4th gen half ton too. In all instances at least half the fuses were only partially seated and some were ready to exit their respective sockets.

Headed out today to go 45 miles down the highway to see a friend in my new Laramie 2500 with 69 miles on it. got up the road about 1000 ft. and the EVIC started spitting out errors. Forward Collision Warning.....Traction Control,......Lane Departure and all had messages in the EVIC. I kept going and once on the highway I went to set the cruise control and the EVIC said Cruise Control Unavailable and that set a message in the EVIC too. Continued down the road and visited my friend a couple of hours. When I headed back home everything was hunky dory. Everything working and no error messages in the EVIC. I hope this was not an omen of things to come.

Only issue I have so far is the rear vents on the back of the front jump seat are not functioning, the vents under the driver and passenger seats work though. I was waiting for a recall or something else to pop up before I took it in since there are still functioning vents in the rear. It is going in Friday 3/20 to get looked at and have the VB6 and W03 recalls completed.

That happened to my last Jeep GC TH when I 1st got it. I took it to the dealer and there was a ground that wasn't tightened correctly. Didn't have any issues after that. I've also read about some people checking their fuses and finding some not fully seated which could cause the same issues. Just something to check.

Thanks Mark, I will send you guys a pm to get the process started.

Okay...I may be a big dummy....so I have to ask the group (be nice now). Does anyone else's truck, if they drive their truck over 30 mph without their seat belt fastened, throw FCW...Anti-Lock Brake...and Traction Control NOT AVAILABLE messages and Cruise Control Unavailable if you try to use that,. Nothing absolute yet but after 4 test drives today that appears to be what mine is doing. And when it happens I have to stop, cut the engine off, open and close the door, and wait for the EVIC to go dark to reset. Then everything is okay as long as I put my seat belt on before I reach 30 mph. I couldn't find anything in the manual. P.S.-I did disable my seat belt chime with the old unhook/hook your seat belt 3 times within 10 seconds trick so that might have something to do with it. I do that because my dirt driveway is 1200 ft. long and I don't want to listen to the chime every time I go down to get the mail.

I have no clue as to the answer of your question... but putting my belt on is a second nature to me. Is it really THAT difficult to just put it on?

Well.....no......and I usually do buckle the belt. I was just trying to confirm that other trucks throw those messages if the belt is unbuckled at 30 mph. And no Burn'n Oil....I don't need cruise control in my driveway. :) This was just a curiosity question to see if my truck does the same thing as everyone else's truck. It only came up because sometimes when I head out I stop at the end of the driveway to check my mail and then stop up at the corner store to get a soft drink. I don't buckle my belt until I come out of the store. I happened to have my dog with me that day so I left the truck running with the AC on and the doors locked, and since I did not turn it off the truck did not reset the messages and they stayed on for the remainder of the trip even though had my seat belt buckled. Being the first week with the truck, I thought I had a problem. It did not occur to me until I mad the trip back home with no "unavailable" messages that those messages were most likely because of my trip to the corner store with the seat belt unbuckled and that I had to actually turn the truck off and let it reset to clear the messages. Logically I figured that those messages should have cleared when I buckled the seat belt when leaving the store I am used to the little man flashing at me when the seat belt is unbuckled but never had Traction Control, Anti-Lock Brake, and Cruise Control unavailable in my two Jeep GCs. And this is the first vehicle I've owned with FCW. Anyway...I was just trying to see if everyone else's truck did the same thing or was mine a little quirky.

I'm thinking that the system is doing what it was designed to do. Just a hunch, though. Fer sh_ts & giggles, I may venture out onto a back road and test your observations. And I'm not surprised the messages remain on until the truck is restarted. I have a similar issue with the trailer disconnect warning. I frequently tow a cargo trailer and when I'm done with it I disconnect with the truck running. The trailer disconnect warning lamp will stay lit until the truck is shut off and restarted.

As Dave Chappelle says in one of his short comedy video's.

How much time do you have Buddy!

Yeh....you're probably right. I can almost understand disabling the FCW...and maybe even the Cruise when not wearing a seat belt. I don't really understand turning off the Traction Control and Anti-lock brake. But I would be curious to know what happens if you are able to give it a try.

About you try this:
Open the driver door, buckle the belt without actually sitting on the seat, then sit down over your buckled seatbelt...…….. there you go, that should do the trick ;)

I haven't checked it from a start, but I thought about this yesterday as I entered the subdivision and unbuckled my belt. I saw no alerts or messages after going over 30MPH for a block or two. I stopped at a corner and put the truck in park, then back into D and again exceeded 30MPH with the belt unbuckled. However, I did not shut down and restart.

If I think about it next time I go out, I will check again from a start. One of the first things I did was turn off the seatbelt chime but buckling up is second nature for me so hopefully I will think of it.

Interesting. I have not tried unbuckling while driving but I will give that a try tomorrow if I go out.

Well... try it I did. Remote start, jumped in and rolled off with no seat belt. Dialed her up to 30 MPH and... nuthin. Just the seat belt lamp and the intermittent "fasten seat belt" msg in the EVIC (chime is turned off). Dialed the speed up to 50 MPH and still nothing. Slowed to a stop and tried again with the same result. I don't have FCW but I expected maybe at least the cruise, ESC or AL brake system would disable. Nope! Perhaps it's something to do with the particular S/W in your truck?
