2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

Well wanna see what happens when you wait so long and the truck comes in wrecked.. yeah NG162020 showed up last week dealership didn't call just told us today. Truck has the roof bashed in sunroof channel, windshield, marker lights and won't tell me how many miles are on it. Damage looks like someone drove it home and smashed it.

That really stinks, shame on the dealer for not letting you know as soon as they found out. Did they say what their plans are for it, fix it and give it to you or reorder?

That's my guess, higher profit margin on the more optioned builds get priority. Trucks ordered 6 weeks after mine from the same dealership have already been built and will be delivered this week. 3500's with HO diesel, only difference is higher trim level Laramie's. I ordered a Tradesman thinking it would help shorten the build time when in fact it has delayed it. At this point my summer plans are pretty messed up knowing I'd be lucky to see it by July, I may cancel it and wait for a 2023 but go with a higher trim level.

It makes sense, some materials that are options on lower models are standard on others. Just a shame.

It seems to be the case - I think. Every time I start playing with the spreadsheet trying to make sense of the mess, I am struck with how dumbfounded I am left.

The HO Cummins do not seem to be moving lately, and I wonder how much of that has to do with supply. The motors are manufactured in the US, then are trucked to Mexico, so it seems to reason that with the same truck shortage for everything else would impact that as well.

Maybe if we do a rain dance, in the rain, then turn 52 times with our forehead on a bat, followed by pulling unicorns out of the air we will figure out the rhyme or reason to the build sequence. Me personally, I think it all has to do with the line foreman having one to many the night before, then just walking in Monday morning and arbitrarily throwing darts at the D1 board and builds where the darts may fall. I figure mine will be built when all of the stars, planets, and USS Enterprises all align in a perfect row, but that is all dependent on Captain Kirk and the night he had!

Isn't this your cancelled Laramie? Someone probably did drive it if you didn't take delivery...

There have been a few enterprise captain's, which one?

Sorry to hear that. Just going by what I was told by the dealer. I am more mad at my dealership than anyone. By the time I get it, I could have ordered the GMC the wife wanted. lol
Yea, I think the dealers are just giving a best guess based on what they have seen. MD told me 20-25 weeks on a big horn that I ordered. Still d status after 3 months so not holding my breath to hit the projected time frame. It is frustrating to see trucks being built and delivered in 6-8 weeks with no rhyme or reason as to why. I would guess your gmc experience would be equally frustrating. My buddy ordered a new f350 in Sept and still has no idea when he will see his truck.

Call them, you will never regret it!!! I am working with Renea and she has been awesome! As for trade-in, she told me that they would give you a trade -in value, but it was only good for 30 days, so I haven't done mine yet, was waiting to get in that "30-day window", and since mine has not built yet, I am still on the wait train. Here is Renea's info:

Thank you and the others very much for writing back. Thanks for the info as well. My wheels are now really turning and I believe I might just wait until the 23’s are available to order. The good thing is that I am not in a place to where I have to do something in a rush. I had already waited a year before ordering, hoping that the 22 year model might be the year that Ram decided to do as they did with the 1500’s, with the Hd’s. I love my 1500. It sounds like with all that Mark Dodge is offering it would still be a lot less expensive and a whole better deal even a year later, then the deal I am in now and possibly take advantage of some little changes they may be coming for 23. Who knows when and if Ram will make the total change over. I will touch base with Renea and go from there. Have a great day.

Not like other matching builds have been done at different times, but here is my window sticker if you want to compare it to yours.
Nice I like yours.
When I order mine I was told that Laramie level B was not available so I had to go with Level D power dep running boards and sun roof neither because the chip shortage.

It finally came in and yes it was canceled but then I accepted to buy it again a month ago. So there was no reason for anyone to drive it.
