2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

Thanks for allowing me to join the group. I am soon (hopefully) to be a first time owner of a RAM. I have long been a Ford fan & my most recent Ford (2011 F350, XLT, Crew Cab, 6.7L Diesel, 8' Box) was a fantastic truck for me. I truly loved driving that truck everyday but as the mileage increased and the vehicle got older I ended up getting nervous about something going wrong with the engine. From my understanding these trucks can get pretty pricey to work on as you have to remove the cab in order to work on the engine.
I work for a trucking company where we spec all trucks with Cummins engines as they have long been tested, tried and true. So I decided to give RAM a chance. Hopefully I'll never need it but it doesn't hurt to have a Cummins certified mechanic at my disposal should any issues arise.
During my new vehicle search I found a dealer that had a truck on order with ALL of my NEEDS and MOST of my WANTS, so I had them put my name on it. 2022 RAM 3500, Big Horn, 6.7L HO Diesel, Crew Cab, 8' Bed.
The vehicle was originally ordered 10/7/2021 and I put money down on it 01/29/2022. The dealer "guesstimated" it would arrive by the end of February or first week in March. As of today (4/14/2022), I'm still waiting...
Does anyone have any idea how long it takes for delivery once a new build is shipped? On 3/31/2022 I was informed that my vehicle was in the "shipping stage" and on 4/1/2022 was told by the dealer that the estimated shipping date was early the following week. Since then I have not been able to get any updates and/or an ETA to the dealer. I have been pretty patient up until this point but am now getting nervous about how long before delivery, here's why...
Going from the original guesstimate arrival date I secured financing through my Credit Union at a MUCH lower rate than through the dealer. The problem is that I need t a purchase agreement by May 2nd in order to keep the same low interest rate. If it goes past that date I would have to re-apply for the loan & interest rates have gone us since. So if I don't get the vehicle by then it will cost me more $$$$.
So if anyone has any intel on shipping time from Saltillo Mexico to Northwestern Pennsylvania it would be greatly appreciated.
My truck is just entering assembly and my dealer told me 4 weeks from that point so I would think you are safe

Be careful...there are SO many variables at play. How long does it sit waiting in Mexico for a train ticket? How long does it sit waiting to swap trains? How long does it take to get unloaded? How long before the truck transport company comes and picks it up? Not saying it can't happen as fast as 4 weeks. You just don't want to give people false expectations. My buddy's truck just took 7 weeks from the build to arrival at the dealer...and we are in the Midwest.

You're on point with that one. I'm in mid-Missouri, and mine should be here any day. Ordered 3-3.

Update:

My order was confirmed by Ram on 3/16, I have my VIN, but still in D status.

3500 HO Laramie SRW - optioned with everything but adaptive cruise, air suspension, ram boxes, snow chief

Dealership said that it'll be 3-4 months, but I'm impatiently waiting....does anyone know if things are still in that time frame the dealership was talking about?

You should feel very fortunate that yours was built within 1 month. Not the norm.
I was talking to my salesman, we don't have any idea as to how, someone days after me ordered a similar truck and it still hasn't been built yet. So who knows.

Mentally prepare yourself for at least that amount of time. Mine was 7 months. I ordered in August and took delivery in March. I think there still a couple trucks on the tracker sheet that were ordered before me that still haven't delivered. If it arrives sooner then 3 -4 months consider it as a bonus. Don't contact Ram Chat. Based on everyone else's experience here it will only drive you insane. I could see that was causing a lot of grief for many here and I did not contact them. I think that helped my patience over the 7 months I waited. A lot of good info on this forum also helped pass the time.

I’m at 7 weeks since built and it hasn’t left Mexico yet.

I bugged Ram Chat about 10x more than my dealer. They provided the broad strokes and I was able to verify details with the dealer.

I have a deposit on a 2022 Big Horn that my dealership ordered (for their inventory, not for me, I put the deposit on it while in transit).

Last status was KZT as of two weeks ago. Today I asked for an update from my salesman and he said he needed to speak with his GM because “once the trucks in transit it falls off my locator but he’ll be able to see it”. He had told me this when I left the deposit as well, saying that once it falls off his tracker it normally shows up at the dealership two weeks later. Me being impatient, I called Ram Care and they said that I needed to speak with my dealership and that they couldn’t provide any update.

Does this seem odd to anybody else? I’m hoping it fell off my salesman’s locator and it’s close to arriving, but it would seem that Ram could tell me that it arrived off the second train if that was the case. Really hoping it’s not a case of it being damaged and neither Ram nor my salesman wants to be the one to break the news to me.

Emailed Sandi today to see if my truck got on the train. Response back computers are down, she will get back to me. Also checked with ram chat basically they said the same thing. Guess everyone's off for the holidays. I'll probably wait till Monday and check again. Ordered 1/27/22
