2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

@tyler2you @ElkRam @gator6 just checked with our friends at RamChat. I've copy/pasted their canned response:
Thank you so much for holding. I am showing that your vehicle is in the shipping stage however a Dealer ETA has not been provided. It will remain in this stage until delivered to the Dealer.
I suppose there's a fighting chance we'll be train mates. I'm just glad someone decided that it might be a good time to build Whitey, especially being such a recent order and all.

You get an ETA yet?

So… I have to dig up the article, but there was a HUGE stink made by a man who ordered a Bronco last year. This guy was a longtime customer and his salesman was a friend of his. If I remember correctly, the salesman was being dodgy, so the guy goes in to get his bronco to find they tacked on a $10k dealer fee or something like that. The dude lost it, I can’t remember if there was an attorney involved, but the dude lost the Bronco and his deposit.

Found the update…

Now most here will tell you that they’ve paid pretty much what they negotiated at order. I’ve seen a few people who have reported getting into arguments, and recently we’ve seen someone lose their deposit for not going with the dealer’s financing option. If you ordered with Mark Dodge, I’d say you’re taken care of as I’ve heard several stories of customers getting taken care of even after the recent price hike in January…wow, January seems like that was just yesterday.

When signing my paperwork with mark dodge, there is a line that reads that price and options are subject to change. My salesman had told me the price would not go up but I found it odd that they had that line in there. I pushed a little more on it and Aaron (sales manager?) Called me to explain. He said that they have to put that in the contract. He wrote a clause in mine that stated I would not lose my deposit if the price or options were not in line with the original agreement. Still find it odd that that is in there but atleast I know that IF my truck ever gets built, it should be exactly what I ordered.

I have emails from my sales rep that states my price is protected, as well as them stating such when I asked about a guarantee.

I know that clause you speak of and think it is something that is in the system that is added to every POC that is printed.

Yes and no I did select the chrome steps but with the level 1 package I was under the impression that they where the power steps. That is the one item I have to bring up with the dealer.
When I did the Build & Price on mine for the dealer it had the power and self populated the chrome fixed step. I made specific mention about it during the ordering process and the owner of the dealer said it would be power. Considering what an ordeal it has been getting them for my '19 after the fact I have been watching for it to be built correctly.

May be a stupid question…how long does it take to get your EL after going into D1?

Talked to the dealer who is the owner that I went through. He remembered taking power off and checking fixed. I guess I missed it. Not a show stopper I'm still very pleased with the truck and hope it will last me like the last one 23 years.

If you got an est. ship date with that D1 status that is likely when you can expect the EL as this is often the build date (or near) assuming you don't regress to D.

So while I was waiting for the EL and window sticker I learned that EL's came in on weekday mornings. MONRONEYs came in 7 days a weeks in the evening.

But now I have both of those lists and I am JS status waiting on a train from Mexico to Louisiana.
What time of day are Ram or dealers notifying folks of shipment? Is it 7 days a week? mornings, evenings...?
How often do trains load up and leave Saltillo?

Just wondering again so I can potentially call off the daily search after a certain "cut-off" time; or I can call off the weekly search at the end of business on Friday; that is if shipping notifications are only given on weekdays.

Same thing happened to me, you’d have to go back to December for the discussion, but since I technically ordered both (DRW comes with chrome and LL LVL 1 electric steps) the sales rep submitted a “change req” to drop the chrome it was accepted and my price didn’t change…of course I was early in “D” status.

For what it's worth, I stumbled upon this graphic of US domestic auto production while researching the global chip shortage...provides some really good perspective for those of us waiting.

Good questions. I am supposedly loaded on a train headed for MD. I am KZDL status.

Other than the big drops during the financial crisis in 08 and the pandemic in 20, I assume the steady downward trend is due to outsourcing production to Mexico and other offshore locations.

Would that include our HD ram trucks in the stats since they are built in Mexico?
My last two trucks (GMC 1500's) were made in Mexico. I think my two F-150's I owned prior to those GMC's were made in Kentucky.
My mom and stepdad own 4 cars, sometimes 5. Not one of the cars they own are made here. (Mercedes, BMW, Audi)

I wonder what the graph for world's market of vehicle production looks like.

Tracking the railcar via the Union Pacific phone system is pretty useless. The last location I get is Eagle Pass on the 23rd. Now the only thing it tells me is "loaded/departed" and a date/time--no location. This morning it says loaded/departed March 26, 4:06 AM and scheduled to "arrive industry March 28 7:00 AM.

Seems pretty useful to me!
