What did you do TO your RAM today?

I added Banks Ram Air CAI system this weekend. Most everything was simple and straightforward. Only issue is that I COULD NOT detach the MAF harness from the sensor. I flipped out the grey tab, but could not unhook the harness from the sensor. I was pulling so hard, I thought I would break the harness. So I just installed the sensor and harness in the new air intake tube together.

Experience: shouting out to @Brutal_HO on his Gale Banks fan boy issues - this air intake has changed my life. At least 50 rwhp, 30+ mpg, i think there is now more hair on my head. And life in the bedroom has improved dramatically!!!

Seriously, the only measurable / noticable difference is that my IAT temps have come down about 5 degrees F and the turbo is much louder. There are 2 IAT sensors - one in the cold air intake before the turbo, and one right before the intake horn. Both are now showing cooler temps (relative to the turbo intake temp and CAC temp). Not sure why, but they are.

That said, the real reason I implemented this mod is my long-term goal of installing a compound turbo setup . Need both the cold air intake and the intake manifold (as well as the charge air cooler) to be able to move much more air than they can today. Slowly but surely putting all the support pieces in place (including ARP 625's coming soon and Allison Transmission Conversion) before installing the compound turbo setup.
I'm getting 50 mpg because of the little doo dad I got off TV for $1995 that took me 10 seconds to install...BUT WAIT, they sent me two at $19.95...

Looking to get an 8’ rubber bed mat. I want something precut that all the corners line up perfect. Thick rubber. Any suggestions

Even with my lineX everything still rolls around

I bought the Dee Zee for my truck a year ago. Fits all the edges perfectly and keeps stuff from sliding around.

$150 on Amazon. Best price I found at the time. Listing said it wouldn’t fit but the part number matched what the Dee Zee site listed.

What was your process for debadging?
Fishing Line pulled through the tape. On the tape that remained on the truck i would start at the corner of each letter and pull up on the adhesive while prying with a plastic tool to remove the majority of the tape. All that is left after this step is a thin layer that i sprayed with an adhesive remover. Then i clayed and compounded the area until there was no sigh of the lettering.

Nice, thanks for the info. Which adhesive remover ?

I installed a Bulletpoint mounting system for my Scanner Radio. I'm very impressed with the quality of the Bulletpoint products. Little details like color matched hardware, nylock nuts, and installation tools count. Initially, I had the arm up off the dash and the scanner was very rigid and shook very little. It's the height of frost heave season where I live too! I ended up lowering it to rest on the dash to get the scanner, except the antenna, out of my line of sight through the windshield. I'll add an external antenna later this year after I install a headache rack. The scanner belt clip drops nicely into the microphone mount and makes it quick to remove when parking the truck in sketchy areas. The microphone mount also works with the round QD mount on the Uniden SDS100. I added a dual USB adaptor into the 12V socket. That socket is constantly powered from the truck battery so you'll need to remember to turn off the scanner. I connected the headphone audio from the scanner to the line in but decided the scanner audio was loud enough and wanted to have the stereo simultaneously. The second ball mount will be for my remote HAM radio head later on.

I have literally had this can for like 20 years. Its called sticker shock. 20220307_195048.jpg I am curious now to see if they still make it. I got my moneys worth to say the least. You can also use wd40 or 3m has an eraser wheel that you put in a drill. That black thing is the plastic tool i was referring to.

I used goof off to get rid of the sticky mess left behind. Squeeze some on, let it soak use your fingernail covered in a microfiber cloth and work at it. It’s a pain in the ass..

How is that sticker even still on the can?

Sheesh.

You can change that power outlet so it only has power with the key on. All you have to do is move a fuse. If I remember correctly it's fuse F91 and you just move it over half a position.

Unfortunately had to disassemble the front end (again) to get back into my OEM LED swap. I used adapters from RetroShop and my driver side high beam quit working. Swapped over to the other side and worked, problem wasn't with the LED housing (whew!) removed the adapter packs, installed the KoadTech bypass harness and flashed the BCM with AlfaOBD. Working great now. Short version- Do not use adapters! Software is the only way it should be done, they shouldn't even sell the adapters, not worth the hassle.

Good job getting it fingered out. On my 05 I would ‘’ remove’’ the grill by opening the hood . Took about 10 more min. to have the lights out.
Ahh progress…you gotta love it. :p

Not what I really wanted to post for "What did I do to my Ram today"

Brought my trailer to work to do some welding and got my first check engine light. Yaaaaaaa

My buddy scanned it and its a code P24B0-00, Particulate sensor low voltage.

Calling the dealer tomorrow :(

Had a 1500 mile trip planed for Thursday.

Thanks for the tip! I’ll check in to that.
