2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

Once you have a railcar number and determine where your final rail destination is, you can use automated phone tracking or there are members here with insiders that can help also. You’ll need to know which rail carrier your truck will be moving. For instance if CSX is your final leg carrier, you may be able to use their system even if the truck comes out of Mexico on BNSF.

So if it’s got 3 legs ferromex, Union Pacific, and CSX i can still just call CSX?

So if it’s got 3 legs ferromex, Union Pacific, and CSX i can still just call CSX?

Typically if CSX Is your final leg, you’ll get information from CSX even if the car has not yet been interchanged to their rail network. From what I have read on here Union Pacific is difficult to get information from, as is BNSF. But Norfolk Southern and CSX are pretty reliable. You’ll find that, if you use their automated phone system, it can be hard to understand the automated voice when it reads out waypoint locations. Might have to have it repeat multiple times. If that doesn’t work, reach out here and members who have insider info might be able to help you figure out where it is exactly.

Waiting on my LL as well, seems that every other trim takes priority over these. Looks like you ordered a little over a month ago?

If you go back far enough in this thread you’ll find a time when the LL’s were the hot commodity and were rolling off the line in large numbers. I don’t think there’s any sort of rhyme or reason to it unfortunately.

It's a bit chaotic how their facility seems to work. One day they're producing Big Horns and Laramies, the next day it's only Hemis, another day they're doing Limited and Tradesmen.

My estimated build date was Monday with no update, low hopes to begin with on that one. But it's even more insane how FCA seems to prioritize some builds while others get skipped and then they seem to "circle back."

tyler2you your truck scheduled to begin production 3/7/22

DelRed22 your truck scheduled to begin production 3/7/22

owdiss78 your truck scheduled to begin production 3/14/22

Those are current as of today. Not trying to steal your thunder brv10 , just thought I’d try to do some digging on my end and see if I could come up with anything to help these guys out.

Wow, insider info! Thanks for the deep dive.

I agree. To the outsider much of what they do doesn’t make sense or seem logical. However, given the current economic climate and the difficulties getting materials, I can’t even imagine how they are able to get any sort of reliable process together. Parts availability, shipping delays, wildly fluctuating costs across the board….it has to be a logistics and planning nightmare. I know on the customer side it is frustrating and sometimes downright infuriating. And rightly so. We just have to let calmer heads prevail when it comes to this stuff. The truck will get built.

I think a big part of the issue, and why so much grief, is that dealers are in some cases making claims and promises that are either downright false, or impossible. There are so many links in the chain that it’s hard to pick where the issue starts.

Just found the link to enter the order info for tracking so it will be recorded. Here is the current timeline for my order.

4/18/21 - Sent my build information to the dealer
5/?/21 - Went to dealer to pay the deposit (don't recall exact date, when placing the order the said no rush to get up there to pay the deposit)
6/14/21 - Asked for status update, told "We don't have a truck on order for you. <<< WTF??????
6/14/21 - Contacted another dealer
6/15/21 - Got my deposit back
6/26/21 - Order placed
7/5/21 - VIN assigned
12/6/21 - Order still in D status after 22+ weeks, dealer couldn't offer an explanation why, so I officially cancelled my order on 12/9.
12/8/21 - Sent build sheet to dealer #3
12/9/21 - Updated build sheet sent to me

12/13/21 - Order placed
1/13/22 - Received VON and VIN info. May have been available sooner, but asked the dealer for it
1/27/22 - D1 status
2/3/22 - estimated ship date of 2/8, but dealer doubted that
2/9/22 - build sheet available
2/11/22 - JB status, window sticker available
2/16/22 - KZLD status
2/25/22 - KZM status, ETA window 3/11 - 3/25
3/1/22 - per RamChat, ETA now 3/8 - 3-25

I had originally ordered the 3500 long bed single axle. Looking back, it seems like the single axle long bed may have been the hold up, although no one at RAM could/would confirm that. When I placed order #3, I decided to go with the dually since I needed the truck. Unfortunately my decision to re-order came 2 weeks too late as I have had to cancel a week long family trip that we were supposed depart for on 3/7 and had to have the truck.

I 100% understand the fact we don't see the whole picture. My industry is dealing with lack of materials as well so it's across the entire nation/world these days. Even though their resources change on the daily, it would greatly help consumers (and dealers) if they would just explain the process some more, or provide some more updates.

I received 1 email from Ram including my vin, haven't seen any of the scheduled build or potential ship/arrival dates anyone else seems to be receiving, it's just extremely odd the manner they relay this information and who they seem to relay it too. All good though, I'm still waiting on shocks and wheels for my new truck so it's not like I'm in a dire rush.

Think of it this way. There only so many parts on hand at any given time. Say they run all the builds they can with all the 12" displays. Once they run out of 12" displays, all those builds are back burnered until more 12" screens come in. But funny enough, there is a high percentage of HO's with 12" displays, so while running those builds, the also depleted their stocks of the HO Cummins and Aisins on hand. They just received a bunch of Mega Cab chassis though....so Hemi Mega cabs get run. They are constantly shifting from one type of build to another depending on the parts on hand. I imagine the prioritize the more expensive/complicated builds when all the parts are available and then within that framework, the "sold" trucks vs the dealer stock orders. The problem is unless you dig into the option level of every build, you can't see any of these trends. My truck took 3 months and I haven't actually taken possession yet due to the utility bed not having yet arrived. It's still a week or two out.

ordered 2 Ram 2500's Limited 1/10/22 still D status as far as I know (last week dealer update)
ordered 1 Ram 1500 Laramie 1/10/22 Eco diesel yada yada, hit the dealer yesterday.

Hate pestering dealer for updates every couple of weeks lol.

Damn, my mom ordered an EcoDiesel mid January and was told “months” for delivery.

Right! They have to bounce around in order to make maximum use of the product materials on hand, and keep production happening. Makes sense that the trucks come out in batches.

I would like to dive deeper into the whole “dealer allocation” concept someday. Maybe if I can make contacts in the right places. I feel like these trucks that get repeatedly passed over and left for months may be casualties, in some cases, Of an ordering dealer with a small or limited allocation.

The logistical nightmare that comes with that sounds so much fun to figure out! I mean, it’s a headache for anyone wanting an anticipated delivery date, but I love puzzles and this reminds me of some of the operational planning I had to do in the military!
