2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

It’s more like a protection plan and it does cover the items that are not covered by the regular warranty. For example; the 12 inch screen if it goes out, they will cover it. And it’s everywhere in the country as it was explained to me. Also you were asking about the taxes I paid $4,579 for fort bend county. They filled out the paperwork for me and I am bring my special plates over.

Are there specific regions that are set to ship via boat vs train? In my head, a boat from Mexico to Florida sounds by far faster than a train, but I guess I'm wrong.
No, it seems random, I have seen trucks from Orlando to Maine go by rail and boat.

I signed up for their warranty
I got it as well. Seemed solid enough compared to others when it came to the fine print. With MD standing behind it no matter where we are was a huge plus to me. They have given me no reason not to trust them so far. They made this the easiest buying experience that I have ever had. I’m driving from SC tomorrow to get it on Thursday. I figure I might as well give a little money to the Golden Nugget while I’m in town.

I'd think that as long as it didn't have to change trains it probably be quicker by train -
Below is a post on a GM forum where the dealer is tracking a vehicle by boat - apparently the solid blue is where got delayed

The same basic route Rams take. Load, stop at a port in the gulf, the one or more stops on the east coast depending on the destination.

Definitely crazy to think. I've got a central Florida order so logic says it'd go by boat... but at this point I'm rooting for a train with all the sea-delays.

Got an email last week saying my vehicle has been scheduled for production. In everyone’s experience what has been the wait time until an equipment listing came up from when the vehicle has been sequenced for production? Days, weeks, months? My new estimated shipping date is 3/11 which my dealer told me (not Ram Chat).

Can I please also get an update on my 12/30 order. 3C6UR5SL4NG237287. THANK YOU!!

Depends on the language. The Mopar backed lifetime warranty which was discontinued a few years ago was pretty decent. I have it on both my 2012 Ram 1500 and a 2018 Dodge Durango. At 180,000 miles, they replaced the 5.7 Hemi in the 1500 due to worn cam berrings. BUT, there is language in the warranty that it does not cover "normal wear and tear". Last time I had tires put on, the mechanics mentioned the front lower control arms needed to be replaced. I took it in to the dealer, but the warranty agent cited that it was "normal wear and tear" and the repair was not covered. So basically, once the vehicle gets near or over 200,000 miles, they're likely to cite that same clause on other repairs regardless of the "lifetime" status.

I also have the lifetime warranty on my 2008 Ram 5.7 Megacab. It has been a mixed bag. They did fix the Hemi tick and a rear differential. But now, parts are getting scarce and they have denied a faulty rear tilting seat, faulty window switches and a cracked door panel due to lack of parts. In reality, about 8 - 10 years is what a lifetime warranty is worth.

D1 to JB mine was 3 weeks.

Can one of you check a VIN for me. 3C6UR5FL9NG242284
My dealer says it is D1 with a ship date in March. I ordered it in January. But with so many people saying they have 6-8 month builds, I thought I’d try to verify the status. Thanks.
If your dealer says it's D1, it probably is. The question is will it go back to D. It does happen but not very often. The build time frame has gotten better on the recent orders. Only time will tell...
