2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

Has anyone showed their Mark Dodge “MD” quote / pricing to another dealer and got the same deal or 1-2% close to it ? I’ve never committed to such a purchase before and think it’s a little crazy to order a truck from a dealer half way across the country and not get it for a couple months. I would of already bought a pre-owned 2021, but these 2nd hand dealers want over MSRP for a used vehicle that should be well below.

Just depends on your area - I showed my MD quote to a dealer that I purchased a 2021 2500 from and he said the best they could do was $2k off sticker - MD quote was for $8k off . Told them I'd prefer to buy from them but that I couldn't leave $6k on the table. He just shrugged it off and said he didn't know how they were getting to that price. My opinion only - he didn't want to try and figure out how they were getting to that price either though...seems that a lot of dealers really haven't had to try to sell anything over the past 9 months - year because the mentality of take their price or someone else will pay it is still ringing true.

I finally took delivery of the truck on Saturday. Window tint and tires installed sunday. Huge thanks to all of yall on this forum for everything yall do. Will be doing a full emissions delete later this week.

Dealt with this very issue this past Saturday. Took the wife’s 2500 to have the fuel filters replaced, and while waiting I was just being nosy on the parking lot looking at trucks. Salesman comes to me and asks if I’m interested in purchasing a vehicle, I showed him my purchase order from Mark Dodge and the discount I was getting, and he laughed. Says he didn’t believe me and if it’s true there’s no way they’re making money on it. Told them if they would get within a couple thousand of what I was going to pay at Mark Dodge I would cancel my order and leave Saturday with a truck. He said there’s no way they would ever sell vehicle right now under MSRP, so I said good luck. He said someone from the DFW area would gladly pay msrp for a vehicle, and I said I’m glad they have the money to do so, and I’ve got more sense than money. But told them they’d be my dealer of choice for service. Their service dept is great. Low volume high market is how they make their money at the smaller dealerships. Guess I don’t understand high-volume and lower markup equals more in sales which equates to more profits

This is the first truck I have ordered so I'm not familiar w/ all the stages of the process. I've seen some people post about not getting a build sheet until 2 months after their truck was ordered. Is the build sheet different than the POC? My truck was ordered on 2/6 and I asked my dealer today when the VIN gets created and he sent me the POC which has the VIN, VON, status D, etc. If someone wouldn't mind, could you please enlighten me on the process? Or send me a link as I'm sure it's been discussed multiple times but it's a little difficult to find buried in the over 1,300 pages of this thread, haha. Thanks.

Yup I agree. There are dealers out there willing to play though on orders. If anyone is on the west coast and doesnt want to go to MD I can pass along the info for my salesman at Dolan Ram in Reno,NV. He told me hes happy to do invoice for anyone I pass along to him so its not MD but might make sense for some.

Try Page 1 - most of your questions will be covered - the short of it is POC with VON when ordered; VIN a day to a week later unless its a Canadian order; D status = parts gathering; D1 = parts gathered ready to build (maybe); Equipment List (sometimes mis-identified as Build Sheet) when built but pending any outside work like bedliner; Window Sticker when complete, passed QC, & ready to Ship

My buddy described something like this to me as well, charging in transit.

We’ve got 4 Battle Borns on board our toy hauler we currently charge with the generator, and planning on putting 2 kW worth of panels on top.

While I like the idea of starting setup at full charge, I’m concerned with something overheating and burning during transit.

If your properly fused there won't be a problem. With the small gauge wire going to the 12 pin plug for charging, not a lot of amps at any one time, but it will/should charge some. Can't say for sure if it will fully charge the BB's from low discharge, but depending on length of time towing/charging it has to help. That being said, I got doubles in the hopes of charging my camper battery. Right now 1 12v, so should be great, the next one I'm looking at 400AH if Lithium w/500 watts solar. I got the double if I need to run a direct DC-DC charge. Now that we are way off topic for this thread I'll stop before I get spanked. But there is a lot of info on the other forums here as well as IRV2 and undoubtedly many others.

Sad but true - MD will apparently sell an Inventory Truck at MSRP or close, but Special Orders, especially via internet or referrals are sales they probably would not otherwise make and they no doubt benefit from volume in several ways - probably increases their future allocation, gets some effective priority if nothing more than more trucks to load on a railcar quicker for single destination, gets better pricing via better incentives (holdbacks, end of year adjustments / incentives based on volume), and moves vehicles without ever having to pay flooring related expenses.

But other dealers are not in the current internet buying world and figure you will order from them not knowing any better and they make an extra 10% ($8k+/-) per truck.

The ones that really get me are the ones adding an additional $5k Market Adjustment - or worse the 2 2021 Laramies I saw posted in September (somewhere in North Texas - cant recall exactly as I immediately dismissed them) that were high $70k / low $80k trucks per Internet Listing and MSRP but they were in the process of pimping them out to $110k with tires / wheels / other inflated accessories and would not sell at original advertised price.

I just got an update from Sandi at Mark Dodge on my Oct LL order:

"Your build date moved to 2/23 and slipped back into D status....I think the supply chain and border blockage has caused some havoc."

She is going to check with Stellantis to see if she can get some detail on what's causing the delays.

The one that really got me was the local gmc dealer. They had a used 19 2500 CC big horn that would have fit the bill for me if the price was right. I went and test drove it, got back and asked how firm he was on the price. He said firm at 55,500. I thanked him for letting me drive it and told him I would be ordering a 22 with more options for 55,500. That was a month ago and it is still on the lot.

Hello. This page should provide you with the build process info you need. My starting point was page 1 of this thread.

My railcar made it to the NS yard in Buffalo, NY this morning. Now comes the wait for it to hit the ground and for the carrier to punt it the last 50 or so miles to the dealer.

It seems that NS was moving the unit approximately 300-350 miles/day once they got the handoff from BNSF.
