In order to sell a high end truck, which they make the most money on, they have to set aside parts that are standard on them that would be optional on the lower trim models. At times both models are probably slowed down on the line because of a temporary part(s) shortage but I would have to say the higher trim packages are slowed down less..
On 9-11-21 I ordered a Laramie with all the options that I could get for that trim level except the sunroof. After seeing on this forum what was happening with delays on that trim level and lower trim levels with the options that I ordered, I tried to cancel it on 9-14-21 and order a Limited with a Level 1 optional package that came with everything and more that the highly optioned Laramie came with. It was too late to cancel the Laramie but I declined that order anyways and ordered the Limited. Out of curiosity I watched the development of both orders.
On 1-17-22 my Limited was delivered to me and the Laramie that I canceled is still today as I write this in "D" status without any progress. In the mean time I have put a thousand miles on my Limited and the Laramie is still waiting to be built. No hurry on the Laramie now because it will be on the dealer lot as stock to be sold after it sits on the lot for thirty days. Since it was a order for someone, they can't sell it for thirty days without penalty which from what I was told is meant to be a deterrent from ordering vehicles under false names to be used as dealer stock.
Anyways my original comment has been based on my experience with my order and what I have witnessed on other orders on this forum.
No it's not always consistent but neither is what particular part there is shortage of on what day of the week is either. It's all a gamble but the pattern of what was I saw taking place at the time that I ordered is what I was going by and my change of order to a Limited payed off for me since I'm driving a truck of my dreams instead of waiting on a truck to be built.
Love the color, and what a quick turn-around... less then 2 months from order to delivery. Here are a few pics of my recent delivery. Very happy with how it all turned out.
The price was the most reasonable for what we have looked at for 5 acres. It's to far to commute to the city for most, but being retired that doesn't count any more. Two years ago, this same property sold for less than 1/2. Our area is affordable compared to many others around the country, but it still is KsThe way land prices are going up I'm surprised. In my neighborhood lot prices have doubled in asking price in the last eighteen months.

Ya that's fantastic! Considering you ordered on Christmas Eve and got that kind of movement.Gonna go out and buy some lotto tickets soon. Ordered 1/24, went to D1 on 2/1 with est ship date of 2/26. 3500 SRW Laramie Mega 6.7 SO.
I originally ordered a F350 on Dec 2nd but made the choice to roll the dice in hopes that ram was quicker delivery than ford (heard rumors their times were getting longer than anticipated). Canceled the ford and ordered the ram on 1/24…got extremely lucky, must have had the magic combo of options.
I ordered the ram JANUARY 24th, not December! I went to D1 within 8 days . I’m on the tracker file, row #939Ya that's fantastic! Considering you ordered on Christmas Eve and got that kind of movement.
I do not see your build listed on the tracker, perhaps you don't want to add it on there. But in case you do, here is the link.

Not unusual for Canadian orders to not get VIN until built or close to build - not like US orders that should have VIN within a few days after order. If you are US order, do you have VON - if so you can usually get VIN from RamChat if dealer wont get it for you. Other possibility if US order is there is a problem with the order.Ordered a limited in October. Still no VIN.
I don’t know if it’s by region / Prov but the option was available on the build site and dealer ordered. I’m hoping to get some answers today whether to keep this build or cancel and reorder another packageI ordered in Canada at the same date as you. At that time the Night Edition wasn’t an option for the 3500. How did you go about getting that option?
Just added mine to the list per your suggestion! Line 931!Ya that's fantastic! Considering you ordered on Christmas Eve and got that kind of movement.

I do not believe so, unless you add it yourself after you take delivery. I'm sure if you search for "blind spot detection" on here you can find information about that.Sorry to ask this if this was asked earlier. Is there a way to get blind spot detection for ram 2500 or 3500 on Laramie or big horn? I don’t see that option to add. It is not part of the safety package either.
I was able to add it on my 22 3500 Laramie. It’s listed as Blind Spot and Cross Path Detection on my order. Sales Code XAN. This is in the US.I do not believe so, unless you add it yourself after you take delivery. I'm sure if you search for "blind spot detection" on here you can find information about that.
Back last summer when I ordered, I believe it was available on a Laramie, but was removed when the 22 website went live.
There's something going on here. This isn't normal. The VIN shows up the moment the factory accepts the order. I ordered mine at the dealer on 12/2 and got a confirmation email with the VIN on 12/4. I'd definitely call your dealer!I'm a Limited order, 4 months and counting. Not even a VIN yet.
Interesting. Were you able to see it on the online builder? Or was it something only the dealer could add?I was able to add it on my 22 3500 Laramie. It’s listed as Blind Spot and Cross Path Detection on my order. Sales Code XAN. This is in the US.
