2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

hey how do I do rail car tracking?
You would need to have a rail car number and then call the appropriate rail company. I have had no success with BNSF, only CSX. Maybe your sales person could get you the information on the railcar.

Here's a thread to discuss your new 2022 Truck orders.

Please stay on topic. Excessive OT discussions may be moved to an existing, new thread, or deleted.

I am no fan of the current administration but political commentary in this thread will not be tolerated. Stick to discussing orders.

Get your build code updates from your selling dealer (best) or RamChat.
  • 2022 Build and Price: Site is now online (October 21)Nobody knows when the web site will be updated

Due to complaints and until further notice, dealers now need to create a new thread for their dealership if they wish to conduct business in the forums.

Please don't poach in the Sticky Builds and Orders discussion threads. Dealers may create one post here with a link to their thread if desired. Answering member questions on options is OK but don't discuss your private deals here in this thread.

Dealers are required to contact site staff before conducting business ("Advertising") in the forums. TOS and Site Rules have not changed but have been clarified.

Thanks for your understanding and cooperation.

Resources: Build Codes, links to build sheet, Monroney (window sticker), etc.

Member @OfficerDirtySanchez has created a Crowd Sourced Order tracking document if you wish to participate. HE maintains the data, not the admin or staff @HDRAMS.COM

Please carry on conversations related to that document in that thread.

Jimmy07 details Camera options here:

All comms through the dealer or Ramchat.

There's no realtime order tracking available to us plebes.

You can use cryptostickers to get notified of build sheet and window sticker once they hit.
Hey I’m not sure if your the guy to tell this to, but my truck arrived 3 days ago but I haven’t taken possession yet. Paying half down and the bank said it could be up to 14 days to receive the funds, they are holding the truck for me though. It was a super quick process and she is gorgeous.

My salesman e-mailed me a few minutes ago. Our truck is here. When he told us it was unloaded at the Pearland rail yard (south of Houston) on the 20th, he said it would likely be between 7-10 days to catch a ride on a car hauler. Here we are 8 days later. It's a Limited 3500 SRW long bed, heavily loaded. No Snow Chief package, no sunroof, no cab clearance lamps, got the 5th wheel bed prep but did not get the spray in bed liner, LED bed lights, and step. Going to have the bed liner done locally. Pictures will come, but it will be dark tonight when we get it, tomorrow is fully booked at a rodeo, so maybe Sunday.

Timeline:
Ordered October 19th
Got VIN November 9th (I think it was available much earlier, but this is when I got around to looking for it.)
Ship Date January 14th (slipped one day, was told it would be January 13th. Never got a Build Date)
Shipped out of Saltillo January 15th. This is where I caught a break. I know from this thread you can sit in the yard for many days.
Arrived Pearland January 20th.
Arrived at Dealer's January 28th.

That's 14 weeks and 3 days. Feeling pretty lucky in today's world. Now on to inspection, then trade-in, warranty, and financial discussions. I'm leaning towards maximum extended warranty and will see if they want to match Ziegler's quote. Finance terms aren't too important as I'll be in a position to retire the loan soon, likely less than 3 months.
We'll see how they do with honoring the Friends and Family discount and protecting the original price.

I opted for the mega cab...never going to fit.
All garages are not created equal. If it’s a track home many times the height of the door is 84” so finished height maybe a little lower depending on the door and depth of garage maybe 22’ from door to wall.
The builders save maybe $100 on the door. A bit more on the framing and concrete. Not much though.

Ordered 12/1 from Mark Dodge – Big Horn 3500, CC, 4x4, DRW

Was told to expect 20 weeks (said some had been arriving earlier but not to plan on it)

D1 date - (not sure when it officially went D1 as I randomly asked the dealer the second week of Jan for an update and was given an estimated build date)

Estimated Build date 1/17

Build sheet available 1/27

Window Sticker 1/28

So right at 8 weeks from order to build complete – little surprised given the holidays were during that time

I specifically didn’t include the 5th wheel setup or bedliner as other posters had mentioned it could possibly add an additional delay of up to a couple weeks (wanted to try the 5th wheel setup since the price would be fairly even and I wouldn’t have to deal with getting the B&W gooseneck installed)

Figure some will ask – I looked at going the Laramie route and just liked the grill on the bighorn better and have had cloth seats for the past 20yrs – a similarly equipped Laramie was +$2k more

Total MSRP went up $2870 – most of which was built into the Base MSRP

Good to know on BNSF. Just found out I’m KZT on BNSF as of 1/26 headed to Granger Motors. I won’t bother stressing myself out if others haven’t had any luck with them, I’ll just wait patiently.

Congrats!! Ordered mine October 5th and arrived in pearland on the 20th also... We were on the same train. Hopefully they pick mine up today.

Anyone know how long after receiving a VIN that it will show up in the VIN payload/towing lookup tool? Just got my vin in the last few days but it doesn’t appear to work in the tool yet.

I do regret getting the bed liner on my build. At the time I didn’t know that it would go to another vendor after the build for it. Had I known about the extra time I would have taken it myself after purchase.

After your window sticker, can't weigh it till after it is built! :)

Not sure what trim level you ordered but I thought about removing the bed liner as well for the same reason, but I ordered a Limited and its hard to justify the $95 adjustment to remove when I would have to spend $700 to get a new one sprayed in. Now im just praying the truck gets here before boating season starts in May.

I ordered a bighorn with very few options. I wanted a tradesman but I refuse to order a truck without the center console. I agree on the savings aspect it makes more sense but I’m also very impatient and I want the new truck before my main trailer season starts back up
