2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

Power folding mirror availability almost drove me back to Ford. The fit in my garage is going to be very tight and getting out to fold the passenger side would get old, especially in the rain. My new worry is the height. As measured at the brochure, I'll have about an inch. But then there's that little shark fin on top of the cab. I might have to take a well placed bite out of the header board on my garage door opening.
Vehicle heights listed include the shark fin

Hopefully one of you guys can chime in.
So today my satellite radio stopped working. Says, “satellite hardware error”. Is this something simple I can fix? I’ve had to turn the truck off several times on my drive but same error.
The other issue, little white knuckle type, thankfully only happened once. While driving late night on the freeway using adaptive cruise and NO TRAFFIC IN FRONT OF ME the truck all of a sudden has a bell, a red alert flashed and the brakes came on pretty hard. It was as if it thought I was going to run into someone but as I said no traffic was in front of me anywhere.
I turned off the FCW active braking. It's now set for warning only.

ACC will still brake as needed, but the FCW won't on it's own.

I tend to limit using ACC during light traffic, not towing.

That said, let's please take discussions of problems on delivered trucks out of the build thread and to a more appropriate forum. You'll also get more attention from people that don't follow this thread.

Really saddens me to see some of these good people not getting the product they expected or wanted simply because someone lacked the info or didn’t care to do the right thing.

Maybe in my next life I could try my hand at selling HD trucks for Ram. Would love to have my own little Ram dealership.

Most people on this forum could not have a Ram dealership because they are too honest and know too much! :p

Never heard of this stuff. Looks great.
Do lots of places offer it?
i am not sure to be honest! The company I show in the photos claims they are the only ones. I know they have teamed up with other shops across Canada though, and I also know of a guy in Winnipeg having something similar done where none of this companys shop exist. Linex themselves offers color matching liners, and they do have a smoother version than thats offered in the bed, but nothing like what I showed in the pictures! Hopefully in time they will, i know they desperately try to grow their market

Kind of annoyed with my new truck:

Doesn't have auto dimming high beams that were ordered. Doesn't have the doors the automatically unlock when you pull the handle with the FOB in my pocket . The cargo camera doesn't work (tried pushing all the fuses in). Doesn't have the plastic cover piece in the wheel wells. The dealer acted like they just don't come with them and if I wanted them I would have to order it. Of course the price went up like 1600 bucks and when I asked about price protection the salesman told me he warned me that the price could fluctuate and that he's never heard of price protection and that if I didn't want the truck he'd be glad to sell it to somebody else for more money. By the way the guy was *edited* ****** (let's just say I wasn't impressed). Locked in 3.49 with my credit union with a 785 score. Not too bad considering a divorce nearly wrecked me financially 4 years ago.
Ceramic coating $995, 7 year.
PPF to cover hood and fully wrap the dually fenders $1295. Dealer is gonna check out the cargo camera next week.
wht model of truck did you order?

Yes - agree its very unfortunate - but realize the 2022 Build & Order software was not available until late September or early October - and the 2021 Build & Order software was not totally consistent with packages that were available for 2022 when I ordered in early September. My dealer Sales person had to take my 2021 Order page and try to reconcile with 2022 pkg. It was not until a week after I placed initial order that he got clarification that Tow Mode Camera / Digital Rear View Mirror was available and we were fortunate to be able to add to order.

And the descriptions are poorly written and not clear to users (differences between Power Mirrors, Power Trailer Tow Mirrors, Power Folding Mirrors, Power Heated TrailerTow Folding Mirrors (not Power Folding), etc; Remote Keyless Entry vs Remote Proximity Keyless Entry; Packages with redundant items; Various Camera Packages with poor descriptions). Furthermore, the packages and availability of options keeps changing due to shortages faster than the software can be kept up to date. The net result is that if salesperson is not familiar with details and not sufficiently diligent, orders can get messed up. And remember some dealers sell a few HD trucks a month compared to other CDJR models so pity the poor salesman trying to keep up with changes, particularly before 2022 models are officially announced.

Not that I am trying to make excuses for dealers - clearly some dealers are much better than others (and some may even be downright buyer insensitive in these days of inventory shortage and Market Adjustment Pricing Additions) - but I really blame Stellantis for not keeping the Build & Order software CLEAR and UP TO DATE more than I blame the dealers. And while I understand there are supply issues beyond their control, the sharing of information with Dealers and keeping the Software CLEAR and CURRENT in a timely manner is NOT beyond their control - at some point not clear until you or dealer selects an option, the option is accepted or rejected by software so there is apparently some software that is maintained current if not linked to the outside world. But the probable reason why people are having good results at MD is that (1) they apparently have the volume and (2) they have a couple of specialists who are able to keep up with changes (which comes first here the chicken or the egg? - but the net result is a very positive experience for most)

What PPF are you using? Mine stops rock chips all day long!
if it chips paint, it goes through your ppf, even the xpel dealer himself says it wont hold up in high rock areas. :) I have talked to more than one dealer too. To try and stop this, they double the film up in that area, but just ends up getting tore to shreds. I wont argue, but you dont have magic ppf! Vehicles in general dont get many rock chips normally. FYI lol A hard coating that can take this abuse, is much better option. This is quote from an actual XPEL dealer, I can get more of them saying it too, all in my emails “For the 2019 Ram the rear flares is an area that is high wear and tear. The film works great is areas where the occasional hit occurs but not great on these high rock area.”

Has anyone ever calculated the total value of all the trucks on the order spreadsheet? Assuming ave price of 65k;
910 x 65k is almost 60,000,000!
Literally just about a days run for them. The numbers become mind boggling real fast.

I very much agree with everything you said. Ram / Stellantis has their fair share of the blame for this too. Ultimately communication is at the root of most of these issues and that burden lies on both the dealer and the manufacturer they represent.

Sounds like my truck is finally out of the Pit of Dispair and at the dealership. Likely won't be able to pick it up until the 8th, but at least it's no longer waiting for a ride. Portland still sucks, though.
Glad they finally picked it up! Yours sat a long time in rail yard.. I think that is the worst part of the process knowing its built 20 miles away and your dealer has over 30 units in railyard with zero deliveries..... Im going into week two with Zero expectation...

Well written, plus the work at home thing has things all dysfunctional, there used to be 18,000 people at CTC spread out through 18 floors, now it's just the first floor, no interaction, Teleconferencing just isn't the same

I’m bored at work and hit Ram Chat because why not? They said it has left the factory and has been approved for shipping. They didn’t have an ETA though. My question for the forum is how long has the trip been taking lately from the factory to MD?

Oh my, that is beat to heck. I think my thoughts were around everyday normal issues, not being pommeled by rocks! I know my painted bumper looks night and day different with PPF, so to me that is magic.:)

That is pretty awesome. I ordered a 3500 Cummins Longhorn out in Alberta a couple weeks ago. Impressed to see a Canadian order move so fast. My dealer estimate was 6 (to 8) months.
I ordered from St Albert Dodge and was told 4-6 months..... Hoping I'm not 6-8 months!

This doesn't look good for those of us waiting on a rail delivery .....

Mine is on a BNSF rail car as you read this ....

Wheel liners are on back order by the way, ordered some last week.
sounds like backorder because they can't even keep in stock to put on trucks so they leave them off. kinda fishy right how 21 had them and beginning of 22 some had them then they stopped installing.

I have made it to KZ? status. Shouldn’t I have gotten a window sticker by now? Crypto doesn’t even show the equipment list as available yet.
