2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

It will go to the vendor for those items then usually back to the plant for QC, then the window sticker and shipping arrangements.
It seems the vendor is out of equipment too! I've bee there for two full weeks, no movement! It's all good though, at least the truck is built :)

Only 237 trucks out of the 800ish on the tracking sheet have been delivered. When you start sorting things by Model, Cab, Engine, and Trim levels....you start to see how unique some of these builds are which explains why some may take a lot longer to fill than others. Frustrating I know, but that's part of the custom order process.

As an example, there are only (13) 2500 Mega Cabs with the 6.4 Hemi in the tracking list. Of those, (7) are Laramie's, (5) are Limited, and (1) is a Limited Longhorn.
As of today 337 delivered out of 759 ordered (May-Dec) - but more significantly 305 of 484 ordered May-August or 63% (214 since 11/30) - sucks for remaining 37%, but 456 out of 484 or 94% built with an improvement of 148 or nearly 1/3 of those since 11/30.

Sept-Oct orders 64% built, 20% delivered

Much Progress but Still no excuse for early orders not built yet = 1 May + 7 June + 9 July + 12 August orders.

You might want to re-check your numbers. Mine is a 2500 MC Hemi .... Big Horn, ram box, NE, and still not delivered yet. Expected to be at the dealership @1/6 (ish)

I will say this about Ford. My father in-law ordered a super duty at roughly the same time I ordered my truck. His timeline has been comparable but Ford has been more user friendly with communication. He has received an update email every time his truck entered a new stage. Not like the old “pulling teeth” routine we hear so much about from the members
Yes but even with all of that it will still just be a Ford when it arrives. Who would want to wait on one of those to arrive? :) Pretty sure the communication and/or updates wont be near as good while it is sitting in the shop shortly after.

Painted bumpers are fairly easy to address if you are worried about chips. My 2020 3500 truck was purchased out of state and the chips drove me nuts on my 2013 3500 so I knew it was going to be an issue. I purchased temporary PPF off of Amazon, took it with me on the flight to pick up the truck, the wife and I installed it in a parking lot (looked bad but served it’s purpose) and drove 1200 miles home. Once I was home I had a local PPF shop install PPF on the bumper, he said it’s the first time he had seen a painted bumper with no chips. I will do the same on my 2022.

Can you post the stuff you got off of Amazon?

Bet we are on the same train. My dealer called last week and said mine was in Nebraska headed to SLC, then on to Idaho. Also received the "customer care" email today ----->
I am following up as Jeff is out of the office. Thank-You for allowing me time to review your vehicle order. Your vehicle is shipping and the current ETA to arrive at the dealer is 12/30/2021 - 01/11/2022
Aimee

Quick update - dealer called while I was typing and said the truck is in Wyoming headed to SLC (Roper UT)
Where to in Idaho is your truck headed?

This is true. It seems like Ford does give their customers a better ordering experience. Ram has gone backwards
I wish I could have said the same. Previously ordered a 2022 350DRW platinum in July and heard nothing. Had two other orders from Ford get cancelled by Ford that were ordered even earlier. My Ram experience has been far superior. In the process of possibly changing my whole fleet after my past Ford experience. I’m glad someone had some better luck with them.

Talked to dealer today seeing if they can push to find out what is going on he said they are seeing this in ford and Chevy also one order there in 6 weeks the next order goes months and no news. He said they have a Chevy for a customer on order from last February and still no news when it be there. If I was that customer I’d already gotten something else

Just tried ram chat ( I’m a glutton for punishment) and waited for 5 minutes and no agent responded. Anybody else have problems getting a response?

Are you in Illinois?

This still blows my mind. I always assumed first come, first served. Seems like your order is like a plastic bag in the wind, going with whatever the plant decides is the taste of the week.

We ordered expecting a wait, and were told roughly 20 weeks. Now I’m hearing that 16 weeks is a possibility, but there are still guys here pushing 30+.

As a consumer, I would feel a bit insulted if I paid for a product and am being pushed aside and forgotten about. I am surprised you haven’t walked yet, and I only hope a dealer decides to do something for your troubles.

Seems like we all played the lotto. Some hit it lucky, some don't.
I'm in the wait to see which one I'll be. I really do hope the long waiters get served soonest from here on out.

Ram cancelled my truck after a month on order with no notice, took 3 weeks to get it sorted out and start the entire process over from the start so lost 7 weeks total. Basically they are all horrible right now regardless of brand.
