Price negotiated from MSRP

Would absolutely fly in but I’m likely trading in my current truck. They offered the bottom end of KBB window but I save $$ on taxes in AZ with a trade. I’m still listing it locally to look at all options but realistically adding in the tax break folks would have to offer above the KBB window to compete. Time is valuable but I have to be in Dallas anyway and Lake Charles is only 5 hrs away from there.
They offered lower than the kbb window. Im probably going to sell locally for 8-10 higher than what they offer

Definitely do that. Local dealership had to offer 5-6k above MD to compete. I’ve received only 3 offers in PHX all for less than MD.

for each there own my fay and a half time ia worth the 2600 price difference. they told me 40.00 in fuel. I bought the 50 gallon tank. so to each there own I got right at 10%off msrp. and about 9k off total. so I took the deal locally for mere fact lifetime powertrain warranty if they do the services and they include free lifetime oil changes and vehicle inspections. no brainer for me.
at 10% off I would buy local too, nevermind the lifetime powertrain warranty. Before I ordered, I shopped my price around to every sales manager in the area. Some wouldnt even bother to respond to my email, and the ones that did told me to jump at that offer, they couldnt come anywhere near it. I wasnt expecting a match, just in the ballpark, I said that in my email as well.

I've seen in quite a few posts how people are going to the dealer to pick up their vehicles to find their price has increased because the MSRP has increased.

Is this normal? Just trying to figure out what to expect. I have a sheet of paper that has the sales price, all fees, destination, taxes my down payment and balance due. I EXPECT to pay the balance due and not a penny more. Am I going to be in for a surprise when I get to the dealer?

Thanks!
Ron

It all depends on the dealer. Hopefully yours is cool and won’t raise the price.

There was a smallish price increase while I was waiting for my 21 to come in. Mark Dodge did not even mention it, and I paid what was quoted to me.

Depends where you ordered.
At Mark Dodge, they will honor the price agreement.

This is why I bought a one year old truck. This is the price, now, here. Kaching...... here are the keys, enjoy. No BS.

I had one DEALER demand $1000 (refundable, good luck with that) deposit to LOOK at a used truck they had for sale. Apparently the owner was driving it and could not be inconvenienced by a potential "non-serious buyer". Must not need my money.

Well I was a serious buyer as witnessed by the people that sold me a truck days later.

Some day the pendulum will swing back (it always does)..... and we will remember the shenanigans and we will remind them.

According to RamChat, my truck was built. I received the equipment list and Window Sticker today. It ships tomorrow by rail from Mexico to Baltimore. It's been 55 days since I ordered it, so I guess I'm doing ok compared to others. I guess we'll see how long it takes to get here by train.

The good news is the Window sticker MSRP is lower than the dealer MSRP by $165. While the dealer will probably not reduce his already discounted price by $165, at least I should not expect to pay MORE money.

Safety Group B was lowered from $1,770 to $1,670
Laramie Level C group was lowered from $1,695 to $1,630
Everything else was exactly the same.

I'm excited.

did they remove items from the safety group b? that's what I would be curious to find out. I too have that on my build and waiting for my truck lottery number to start building.

Here is what my sticker says about Safety Group B. All I was concerned about was the digital rear view mirror.

Safety Group B $1,670
Digital Rearview Mirror
Lane–Keep Assist
Full–Speed Forward–Collision Warning Plus
Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop
Adaptive Steering System

Here is the final cost for my new build, should be getting delivered next week.

What you all think on the end price? How does this compare to what you all have seen/got?

Looks like you’re getting below EP pricing. I say it’s a good deal.
Taxes are killing you lol. In SC we pay $500 maximum. It’s 6% I think and caps off at $500.

Yea the tax sucks, If I traded in my old truck I would have got a big break on the taxes. But they only offered $13k and I sold private for $17.5K.

Some states allow for a vehicle to be sold a short period of time before/after you purchase a new one to offset the amount of tax owed (45 days in AR)...it doesn't have to be traded in

Thanks for all of the good info here. I've been shopping for a 2500 or 3500 (likely needing the latter because of payload) and reached out to several of the dealers shared in this thread. Mark Dodge was competitive, but Chapman RAM in Pennsylvania bested them and said they're offering 5% below invoice, plus tax/tags and $394 pa doc fee. That ended up taking about $10,000 off the 2500 I quoted to end up at $68,000. When I place my order, I'm going to go with them (it also helps that they're a lot closer to me).

I asked if I could share this with others on the HDRAMS forum, and they were fine with that. Feel free to reach out to Ashlie Ryan, contact info below.
