What did you do TO your RAM today?

Got the windows tinted and added a Lomax bad cover, same one I had on my 2017, which we loved. Who got the retractable bed step below the back bumper? I use that thing more than anything else on the truck. I had no idea!

I like that bed cover!

Fits really well. Small gap in weather strip on each side at the front corners and I added some "D" compression weatherstrip there. No leaks so far and very sturdy.

Can you post a pic of what you did to improve the sealing?

Without taking the cover off, you can't really see it. The weatherstrip they provided was cut at a 45 degree corner, but there's a little gap and the top rail on the bed is not perfectly level. It has about a 1/8" step down from the side rails to the cross rail behind the cab. I added a 3/8" "d" shaped piece of weatherstrip, about 1 1/2" long where the two pieces of weatherstrip meet, attached to the cover. It filled the hole when it compressed. Next time I remove the cover, I'll try to remember to take a photo and post it.

Cool, please do. Where did you get the weather stripping?

Im considering this cover. USA-made and I love how low profile it is. Which finish did you go with? The black matte, or the urethane?

Yeah I use mine all the time! I’d love a 6” lift but would need a ladder for my bed, and I’m 6’3”. I use my truck too much for that unfortunately. No pavement Princess/ mall crawler here.

He had more issues with his. 6.0. Just got it back out of the shop. And was worried about driving at night. I told hi. I'd be his chauffeur and pull the trailer. Mostly because I wanted to take my truck.
Pulled a 8% grade with no issues. Actually accelerated from 50 to 65 on the steepest part with no problem.
I'm truly impressed with the truck. Made it to our hotel south of San Quentin. Got just over 10MPG doing 60 or so.

That is great. That is also how you convert Ford owners to Ram owners. LOL

Just ordered this. Thanks

Cool, Definitely leave a little extra where the storage tray is and you should be able to get a tighter fit than I did.

Got my Yakima rack installed as well as my Retrax tonneau cover, see pics below of the Yakima rack. Tonneau pics coming soon. Have the Maxtrax mounting board on one side of the rack while waiting for the Maxtrax to show up. Also still awaiting my Rotopax 4 gallon fuel pack for the empty side rail. Still pending decision on if I am going to do a RhinoRack roof tray on the top rails or a roof-top tent. Tray would afford me the ability to mount my spare tire, propane and misc.. plus give me an excuse to get a trailer for hunting and camping trips. Versus the rooftop tent being easier on the wallet (in the long run) and be most likely more functional.YAKIMA1.jpgYAKIMA2.jpg

Shes a looker!!!!

Not today but yesterday put it on a Cat scale. It is a porker considering it does not have a lot of fluff. This was truck weight only no persons were weighed :). full tank of gas, AEV wheels and Toyo 35's, dethloff tranny skid and 75A sliders that is it.

Looks AMAZING in the sun!
Thanks for saying so. The color differences between being in the sun or in the shade truly amaze me. Makes for one more reason to have listened to the wife - this was her first color choice after we looked at several on a local dealer's lot.

Nothing super special :)

I made a removable cover that covers the opening where the oil filter is located. I didn't want snow and slush going up in there.

I used Splash Shield Retainers so I can take it off when I need to change the filter.
The rubber a piece I ordered from Amazon and cut to fit.

Added a set of the Baja Designs SAE fogs in Amber. Bought them used (they were basically new) for less than half the retail price. Having installed them, i would not have been happy if i paid full price.

Couple of things :

I don't like that they don't really "Fit" in the hole. They do, but they clearly aren't designed for it.
The stock bezel had a huge gap between the light and the bezel. It has a very large convex curve to it, resulting in atleast a 1/4 - 3/8 gap. I sanded down the stock bezel to get it to sit flush on the face of the light.
The light output feels pretty weak to be honest. I know they are SAE compliant for the street, so they won't be laser beams.. but it feels weaker than the factory light.

I will run them for atleast a month to get a real good feel for them. We are mid winter so hopefully i can get some time with them in poor visibility conditions and see if they make it worthwhile.

Overall, if you're looking for serious light output, these aren't it.
