What did you do TO your RAM today?

I started years ago piting for Team Green back in 1990. My cousin and his buddies brought me in. The Baja Fools.
I moved on for several years, wife, kids, work, etc. Got back into it in 2013 with the Fools and we got asked to pit for Rob Mac for the 1000 that year. Next year, Rob asked us to be his pit crew for all of his desert racing.
And the rest is history. Only the 2nd guy to win 3 Baja 1000s in a row in TT.
He's a awesome, humble, appreciative man. Mad respect for the man, who just happens to be the GOAT of off road racing.

We are currently sitting 2nd in points for the championship by only 2 points.

That’s good stuff, I’ve watched him since I started desert racing in 2003. Always dreamed of hitting the lotto and getting into TTs ha. I’ll never forget meeting Ivan the iron man Stewart at a BITD race. Been out of desert racing and racing in general since I joined the Coast Guard but try to follow it still and watch the sport continue to evolve. Have a safe trip down there.

Puddle jumper hun. :p
21 years surface Navy. Been working for them the last 20 years after I retired.
Rode dirt bikes all over Baja with my cousin and other members as a member of the Los Ancianos. The club is 60 years young. Puts on the Tecate Enduro each year.
Good times down south of the border.
Maybe one day you can tag along with us.
Mint 400 is coming up next month.

I was waiting for a puddle jumper puddle pirate reference lol 12yrs in. I’m stuck up in WA now but can’t complain as my last 8yrs were in the Bay Area. Still can take the kids riding quads and SxS up here though. Goals to stay on the west coast and not have to go back to the east coast again ha.

I did 2 years San Diego, then was sent to Memphis Tenn for school, the to Fla, just west of Daytona Beach in the middle of the forest for 4 years. Reupped and got back to Cali and did the rest of my time here. Mostly in San Diego. Last 24 years have been up in the Ventura area in Port Hueneme. Went to school twice up at Mare Island. There is a Coast Guard post up here.

Looks good! Couple questions if you don’t mind? Are you by chance runiing 3.73’s and if so how are they with 35’s? Also, trucks looks leveled with just a touch of rake, what did you go with? TIA
I have 3.73s. I don’t notice any difference at all from stock to 35s. The truck suspension is stock. I’m parked off the driveway a bit so there could be some illusions going on.

Yet another idea I stole from @el_barto (I believe it was)

Hung a half dozen 1/4-20 eyelets from the protruding studs the roof track is mounted with. Then strung up some paracord with taut-line hitches to make a clothes line in my rig.

I don’t really plan on hanging or storing items up there, but I can hang wet socks or other items to dry out while camping or doing whatever

Put on some new shoes. Transfarce AT’s we’re good for 25k. Fills the wheel well better.

Took the big girl for her first trip out to Stave lake and did some compound bow shooting over a campfire with the family, kids included. Was an awesome time getting some speed over the extremely rutted out FSR into the flats, the Carli system put the biggest smile on my face and kept asking for more. Nice little shakedown run. Had a good time getting some mud thrown around and the big mean Cummins blowing some black smoke over the sand put a big smile even on the 11 month old :p

Also will have been last trip out without a tonneau cover! Retrax and Yakima rack going in this week!

Finally got around to performing my first fuel filter change out. The gallon ziplock trick on back filter was a winner! Not a drop of diesel got on my driveway. Used 39” of 5/16” ID hose for draining rear and 36” of 1/2” ID hose coupled to the factory drain tube on the front. Got filters from Geno’s. Best price I could find!

Can you explain the gallon Ziploc bag trick you did?

When you’re removing your rear filter, break housing with socket (28mm) and ratchet until it’s “handy”. Take a gallon ziplock and place around the filter housing and then spin it the rest of the way off. The rest of the diesel in housing will spill into ziplock and not over you or driveway/ground. Learned it from reading this thread, a while back
