2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

Just curious:

Seeing a bunch of trucks ordered with the Dual Alternator option, far more than I would have expected. I assumed these trucks were being ordered with these due to the added electrical demand for things like snow plows or large travel trailers? I did not get that option on mine and was just wondering if i overlooked some particular benefit? My 2017 was a single 220 alternator and I seemed to get along just fine. Thanks for any input on these orders

How the F I'm seeing all these vins past mine being shipped and I'm not even built or any updates yet!?! It's getting old real fast waiting like watching paint dry and everyone else is getting theirs. Is it due to buying from a local not a super high volume dealer like Mark dodge?

No idea. But some communication would be nice. If it’s TTPMS holding it up, I would tell them to remove it. But no word.

Mine had the TTPMS and was built 11/6. Don't think that would be holding it up. But mine only had the C package for the Big Horn also. Vin 3C63RRHL0NG163053

I got mine equipped with dual 440 alternators. I use my winch, will be getting a 5th wheel, maybe add an additional amplifier and I have many off road lights for when I look for critters in various southern states and last but not least it was a cheap add. I’d rather have them and not need them the the other way around.

Was told the volume thing really does play in on orders. Asked specific question when we ordered the Wagoneer, smaller dealer was projected to be 6-8 months versus our awesome dealer who is getting them 2-4 months

It was just an example, as no one knows since there is no communication :)

If I am seeing correctly on spreadsheet, you ordered Sept 8 - there are only a dozen after you that have been built, only 9 of which have Window Stickers. But there are more than a hundred and fifty orders before you that have not been built yet. As far as why some are built and others not yet, that is the great mystery, but they are now at 70% of the May-July orders built as tracked on the spreadsheet and making progress.

Truck is loaded after mine and arriving one day earlier. How is that possible?

I've been looking at dealership pages and looking to see what's out too. They have some way older vins and some much newer that are not on our tracking sheet.

There were 20-30 held up for a long time (approaching 2 weeks) in October with Equipment List but no Window Sticker. Mine was one of the group. I pulled the build sheets to try to determine the most likely common denominator which was TTPMS sensors. They all broke free at once so the assumption was a shipment of sensors had made it thru the shipping fiasco.

This is just an example of what can hold truck in JS without Window Sticker. Other auxiliary parts such as TowMode Cameras, Trailer SurroundView Systems, Floor Mats, or 5th Wheel hitches - or items such as Blind Spot Monitoring, Power Folding Mirrors, or Sunroofs - or secondary vendor issues such as Bed Liner or Gooseneck Prep could also delay a truck. The TTPMS was only one of many examples that have been suggested as holdups.

And as far as telling them to remove an item that is holding up a truck - that certainly sounds like a practical solution until you think about the logistics of (1) identifying item or items holding up truck, (2) Checking Supply Chain for part / parts to see if any are in route and when expected, (3) contacting dealer, (4) dealer contacting buyer, (5) getting OK or not, (6) getting info back from Dealer to Manufacturer, (7) adjusting build paperwork and invoice, (8) pulling truck from storage and making any adjustments / completion without an item such as Power Folding Mirrors, (9) shipping VS (1) wait for part, (2) pull back from storage to complete, (3) ship.

Could it be done? Yes - Would it require additional effort on part of Manufacturer already stretched thin as to resources to set up and maintain system? Yes But If YOU were the manufacturer whose business is building trucks, faced with a few - say 10-20 trucks held up, and trying to turn out as many trucks as possible to meet demand in this time of more or less random parts shortages that could come in tomorrow or a month from tomorrow due to unpredictable shipping, which would you do?

We, myself included, tend to look at things from our perspective and expect information like we used to get from Amazon (which is also getting to be unreliable).

Just my 2 cents worth of response.

Best to all - and especially to the hundred and fifty souls who ordered in May-July and dont have Equipment Lists yet.

That all makes sense, but this is all computer driven and can be done in milliseconds. The longest delay would be waiting to hear back from the customer if they want to remove the option or not.

I almost 59% know its who you ordered the truck from. Look at these that sold hundreds of trucks. There orders are being build and shipped fast. But when you sell more in a month. Then some other dealers sell in a year. You know the large Volume dealers are going to get builds faster.
Say your order was placed at ABC ram. They only sold 25 orders, there scattered from the start to this week. If they have to let a truck sit until enough get built to ship. That may well be one big issue. Where say Mark Dodge loads a rail car without any issues each day, or week. Those orders are going to be moving north faster.
But then again this is just a dumb Tn river rat thinking out loud. But then again my order from Order date to build 55 days.

Just checked this morning, my Sticker is still not found, build sheet was available 10 Nov, maybe I am getting a gold plated sticker mailed to me....
My truck was built 11/10 and KZ L status that same day and I don't have a window sticker either.

Yes theres a smoke ring on there. Just not a deep dark one. 2 pieces of charcoal will add that ring. Used to sit up and baby sit the meat. Now just toss it on the SmokinTex and go to bed.
Nice! I'll have to look that grill up. I've been using a Reqtec Bull RT-700 and love it!! I basically do the same now too, cook to my first temp, pull & wrap, then cook to next temp, let it sit for 2-3hrs min and serve some of the best tasting brisket and "dino bone" beef ribs

Thats the good thing about the Smokin Tex. No crutch needed, never wrap anything. Chicken comes out so juicy its unreal. You have a PM.
