2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

There were a couple people on here looking at selling their NE wheels. Could do a search for them and see if anyone is close enough to you to snag them up.

Seen a few, waiting for a set nearby. Don’t know how long I want a set of wheels sitting around waiting on a truck but I’ll hop on the right set.

Could a truck be in the process of being built without a build sheet or sticker posted?

I ordered back in July and had the vin and von the same day I ordered my truck.

Vin- 3C6UR5DJ3NG136821

Von- 50176134

My understanding based on information presented here and personal experience:
Typically your status will be D1 before truck is built - that may be for a month or more or may be a few days (times seem to be getting shorter now???).
Actual build time is a fairly short process unless it has to go out for something like bed liner or GN prep - once it is built, the Equipment List will show up and it will go to JS status (storage).
JS status may last for a day or several weeks if it is waiting for something like TTPMS Sensors or Aux Cameras or ??? to complete build.
The Window Sticker will show up once it is released for shipping and invoiced to dealer. (KZ status?)
At that point it is probably awaiting shipping (combination of rail, boat?, truck, etc) which seems like a can or worms beyond Stellantis control.

I see posts of guys getting their trucks in 2 months, and most others waiting 6 or more...having just ordered a week ago...I figure it will be spring....so do I order my bed cover now, or wait? do I research a ceramic coat now or wait? And other accessories, oh, the drama of it all... :D
They did not start production until August 7 or there abouts and they shut down due to parts issues for a week in September - I dont think you can realistically count wait time before August.
Having said that, its now 3 months (less the week) since production began and there are many orders placed well before August who are still waiting for Equipment Lists which seems inexplicable when others who placed orders in September have their trucks. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to the delays and it is really unexcusable considering trucks are being delivered incl dealers.
When I ordered, my dealer speculated 12-16 weeks - it was built at 8 weeks and is apparently in the black hole waiting for shipment, so it looks like it might make 12 weeks (hopefully)

My dealer told me 16-20 weeks typical from time of order. For me that would be great, put me about mid February for 16 weeks. From watching this from the sidelines, I think that 16 weeks is a pipe dream, hopefully it will be a big pipe.

Showed up this week. Ordered 7/15 and arrived at dealership 11/2. Limited with all options and Indigo Frost. Dealer said he ordered a very similar unit the same week he ordered mine and its not even D1... nobody seems to know what the magic formula is for quick builds at my dealership either.

Now to figure out what the heck to do about floor liners for Indigo frost .

The window sticker can show up when it leaves the plant or a week later, mine was 3 days, my truck sat for 2 weeks before the dealer was invoiced for it.

Wait until Black Friday/cyber Monday. Heck. Even hit up Christmas/New Year sales.

Are most of you buying ext. warranty?
I was referred to Zeigler site for factory warranty - pricing is significantly better than starting prices at dealer for Factory Extd Warranty, but I have heard dealers will often match their prices

One caution, read docs carefully, esp In Service date - I got screwed on 2015 2500 Limited by dealer putting "In Service Date 10-24-2014" when truck was bought new with 13 miles on odometer 7-24-2015. Never could get it corrected - not sure if it was an honest error or something to do with fact that truck had been in inventory 6+ months

Those were the days - $10k off MSRP (5k from Chrysler + 5k from dealer) to move it off the lot.

I’ve never owned a brand new vehicle before so can you provide a little more insight on how the extended warranties work? Do you choose the plan you want and pay then it kicks in once the factory warranty expires?

Still up in the air about ext. warranty. I don't want to pay all that $$ and for them to say this part is not cover.
I did benefit from Extd Warranty but it took reading the fine print to the Service Rep - Metal hose clamp type device securing air cleaner failed (rusted Stainless Steel - probably defective not stainless steel material) but it was unique and attached permanently to Air Cleaner housing - not available as a separate $20 part - only available as Assembly $400+. But because it was considered an integral part of Air Cleaner housing they covered it - after deductible I was out $100 instead of $4xx + labor.
Also had overhead LEDs replaced and leaky headlight replaced before 3 years under basic Factor Warranty. But it would have been very expensive otherwise.
And dont even get me started on the thousands I spent on an 2006 F250 that would have been covered under an extended warranty.
In my mind, Vehicles today are too complex and have too much expensive electronics (12 inch screen would cost more than 8 year warranty) to be 100% reliable over 10 year lifetime.
But read the fine print as to what is covered - make sure it covers electronics as well as powertrain.
Best, Ed

Yeah, I don't want my kids crawling around in my new truck either! Haha. JK. They're out of HS. Still don't want them in my truck

Hey, not funny, I imported 4 daughters from the Philippines that my wife created, greatest and cutest kids ever. They know they own me and seem not to care about what I say if it doesn’t suit them.
We live in bear country. I tell them DO NOT LEAVE ANYTHING WITH A SMELL IN THE CAR! So I am constantly finding all kinds of garbage in MY vehicles, Their vehicles and my wife’s vehicle. (I keep mine clean).
My oldest bonehead, at least she’s smart, she leaves mountains of trash in her car and then leaves the door open so the bears just go in her car and have a party and leave with out damaging her car at all. True story. She comes out to find her trash gone from her car, just to be spread around the driveway. I think she views this as a win win. She gets her car cleaned, the bears get a party place and I get to clean the driveway. I don’t view it as a win win. My view is somewhat different.

I would not mind finding a spare set of Longhorn or Laramie 18 inch wheels (not 20 inch, not black, not steel) - and I am reasonably close to Lake Charles - anyone having Mark Dodge replace 18 inch OE Laramie or Longhorn wheels with custom wheels - I might be interested in takeoffs - please message me directly.
Best ACEd
