2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

Ah, the dreaded RAM chat info. They have had all the parts for 14 days (D1) now so I figured I would ask the question today about build date estimate:

"Thank you so much for holding. I am showing all of the materials needed to start the build process have been received. The vehicle should be entering the build process shortly. Orders can remain in this stage for an average of 30 days prior to entering the build process"

30 days average from parts gathered to start of the build process.

Stellantis definition of shortly = 30 days

Back to the waiting, have a great day HD'ers!

I still cannot access either. Everyone else could see it though and a manner was nice enough to send it to me. One guy on here said that's been happening to several people
I did see that about some people having issues seeing them while others have no problem at all.

Mine was in D1 for 33 days

Mine has been in D1 since the 8th, so 13 days now for me, so it’s good to know that they can stay in D1 for 30 days before entering the build process. Weird process for how they build vehicles.

Welcome!!!! It’s crazy how many dealers have different things that will hold up a build I was told just the sunroof, I’ve also seen power steps, HO engine , 5th wheel prep, folding mirrors, some of the camera options so it’s just crazy how all over the board it is. And I’m almost 5 weeks in since my order and I’m itching to get it now lol but know I have long wait as well

Great. I’m only at a week since I ordered and itching already. Not sure where I’ll be a month from now. I ordered everything you said so I’m probably on extra extra hold up!

Ahhhh yesssss……….I remember those days!

Now the real question at hand:

Which one of the following scenarios is MOST unnerving:

A. Being told by Ramchat that the parts are in the factory but your truck isn’t built yet.

Or

B. Knowing your truck has been successfully built and is sitting in Mexico waiting for a train ride that could take 10+ weeks

Who would’ve thought spending $90k on a truck could be so much fun!!!!

I really like my rental truck (trade worked on current 2020 Rebel but awaiting new truck) but dang its stressful driving it and putting miles on it. My only disappointment is my next family trip in November, I will still be in the rental at this rate. If the original shipping date holds, it will arrive at the dealer while I am out of town on said trip.

I ordered everything but the sunroof for most part so who knows how this will play out. I just keep crossing fingers it’s not 6-9 months of waiting.

I get the unable to fetch message when I use capital letters in the vin but I get no records found when I use lower case letters.

That’s insider information. Not accessible to the general public. It would be nice if Stellantis offered their sold-order customers a web based portal that could allow you to enter your VIN and get this kind of information but unfortunately they do not. Basically you have to rely on:

A. Your selling dealer (the majority of whom are either so busy they can’t get back to you in a timely fashion or are misinformed / disconnected about what status codes mean.)

B. Ram Customer service (over the phone) where it’s the luck of the draw and IF you happen to get the right person, you MAY be able to get them to give you your trucks current status

C. Ram live chat where you basically get told they can’t give you status updates and you receive very general and vague responses that give you minimal information and leave you asking more questions than when you started.

D. The generosity, kindness, and patience of a few select members of this forum who, out of the goodness of their hearts and compassion for us poor souls who can not access said information, are willing to sacrifice their free time looking up the status of our trucks for us.

I like the D. statement !!!!

A lot of these dealers are telling stories just to pacify us, I see lots of comments saying they are on the train and they trucks are only in storage.

Exactly. Reference below. I was told my truck was “in paint and trim right now” on September 15th. Build sheet posted on October 11th. It doesn’t take a month to go from “paint and trim” to a build sheet being posted and the truck going to JS status. That was either a blatant falsehood said to make me feel better or response out of ignorance. Either way, it doesn’t leave me with much confidence from the dealer side of this equation. I would’ve happily paid an extra $50-$100 on the sold-order for access to a web based portal that would allow me track the progress of my truck accurately and allow me to plan my life around when the truck will arrive.

Hello….Stellantis….are you out there?

Maybe I should apply for a patent

B!!!

The Silver ED is just a package you can get on a Lonestar/Big Horn. Lonestar is a Texas badged Big Horn. Silver ED is more chrome and black accents on the interior. You can build one out on the Ram site for 2022 builds.
Edit: the Big Horn/Lonestar both have the new grille. The Silver Ed uses the old 2021 Bighorn/Lonestar grille. Gloss black horizontal slats and chrome RAM and nostrils. Not a Laramie grille.
Thank you. After posting this, I did see that the 2022 builds were up on the Ram site. I did a mock build of the truck like my order. Was your info about using the same 2021 grill based off of that build site? Because I saw that too and I interpreted it as maybe the site wasn't 100% accurate because it also didn't show the chrome belt molding in the picture, which was clearly stated to include. I also read the part where the press article said there will be more info posted this weekend. Definitely looking forward to that read.

So here is why some of us are very unhappy with our early orders. Document shows all the 2500 Mega cab Limiteds ordered by members on here. All the May orders and some of June orders were skipped over and they instead built later June and July orders. What a terrible ordering system.

I would be happy just getting my truck shipped after being in storage for a week, also they might say my EP is good enough!

They still haven't shipped it? I thought for sure yours would have shipped before mine!
