New Safety Recall Advanced Communication – Y76
FCA US LLC (FCA US) has announced a safety recall on certain 2021 and 2022 Model Year (DJ) Ram 2500 Pickup, (D2) Ram 3500 Pickup, (DD) Ram 3500 Cab Chassis and (DP) Ram 4500/5500 Cab Chassis vehicles equipped with a 6.7L Cummins Engine.
REASON FOR THIS SAFETY RECALL

It is advised to exercise the following precautions until the vehicle has the final repair completed: do not park these vehicles inside of buildings or structures, or near other vehicles.
SERVICE ACTION
The remedy for this condition is not currently available. Dealers will be notified of the launch of this safety recall by way of established communication methods.
We ask that you please take the time to ensure that your personnel are aware of this communication and are prepared to execute a customer friendly process for inquiries regarding involved vehicles.

This is the exact same recall they had back in January for the 2021s grid heater relay, stop sale and all. What, did they forget how they remedied that? Must be a shortage of silicone caulk now…

Same information they listed for the 2021 model year trucks. I did a quick online search when people started talking about the stop-sale and found that, thinking it was isolated to the 2021 and someone didn’t have their information correct. I guess now we know it’s in the 2022 trucks too. Very disappointing, and would serve to explain why several of these trucks recently completed have been pushed to JS status. Also received this response from customer care the other day and this may explain the “research” they referred to in my discussion with them.

Looks like they found out exposed silicone in an engine bay isn’t exactly the best potting material selection-

Exactly. Wonder if the first fix didn’t work well. IMO it sounded like a bandaid versus a true corrective action.

Hopefully that means they will stop building trucks with cummins for a while so they can build all the well equipped Hemi trucks. :)

That's really exciting! Thank you! I never imagined my new truck would come with a microphone! I suppose that's for karaoke or maybe it will come in handy when I'm playing the site seeing guide on family road trips.
If you opted for the wireless charging you can set it on the dash to charge.
