2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

Beautiful truck - cant see interior - did you go black or tan - loved the 68 Plymouth B-bodies in this color, but could not get the Saddle tan interior on them - only the black or 2 tone green. Now if they just came out with a Turbine Bronze with Saddle color interior and matching vinyl roof.
Thank you! I haven't seen the inside yet.. dealer says I might have to wait until Monday to pick it up because they're backed up on doing inspections. I liked the tan interior that Ram has, but went with the black because my kids get everything dirty.
About those old B-bodies.. I know exactly what you mean. Back home there is a '68 Dodge Coronet in green that's been sitting in my mother's barn for 20 years.

47 per hour, 8 hours for 1 truck.
Thats 376 per 8 hr shift - assuming 3 shifts = 1128 per 24 hr day x 365 days thats only 411720 per year.
That has to be for 1 production line and there has to be more than one RAM HD line to get past 700,000 per year
[/QUOTE]
M-F 3 shifts, 1 6 hour shift on Saturday, minus the shutdown weeks.

You are counting total RAM production, not just the HD trucks, they also build RAM 1500 classics and Van's there.

Assuming 700 a day x 365 days = 255,500 - VINs for 2021 go into 700,000 range so must be higher a lot than 700 a day or even 700 an 8hr shift - even if they are working 3 shifts x 365 days it would need to be 700 a shift - I would believe 800-1000 per 8 hr shift considering down time.

Or maybe thats why they are still working on 2021s.

Does anyone know is they have a stash of partly built trucks waiting in a storage area like Ford had waiting for semiconductor parts?
Maybe thats what happened to the unfinished 21's and the early 22's?
What constitutes early June? Did I miss something, I only catch every 10th page or so? I have a June 11th order. I will buy one off the shelf and eat taxes if I won't see it till April.

Black shows dirt way more than tan. My neighbors have identical Ram 2500 Laramies except one has the brown interior and one has the black interior. They steered me to ordering the tan/brown interior because their black one always looks dirty. They were very adamant about this fact and strongly encouraged me to go brown rather than black because of dirt.

Wow. That's moving along quickly.

This your neighbor?

The 2022 online builder is available for Ram trucks Canada. You can go online and see the colors available there (not sure if it will be different for US trucks but I doubt it). The colors they offer for a tradesman are Bright White, Billet Silver Metallic, Granite Crystal Metallic, Maximum Steel Metallic, Diamond Black Crystal Metallic, Hydro Blue Pearl coat, Patriot Blue Pearl coat, Flame Red, Delmonico Red Pearl coat, and Olive Green Pearl coat.

There is an article here:

That discusses the ending of low volume colors for model year 21. I would bet that that continued over to model year 22 as well

I ordered a low volume color 2 months ago, construction yellow Tradesman 2500. No update on build status and order has not been cancelled.

Any other low volume color orders?

First post as a somewhat proud owner of a 2022 Laramie Night Crew gasser. I was very proud for the first hour or so but then the 12" screen COMPLETELY FAILED taking down about 30 associated features (all the cameras, radios, climate control, lane departure, seat heat, collision avoidance, auto-highbeam, etc, etc, etc). Now I have an expensive boat anchor in the garage.

Of course, there are no parts, no expertise and no solutions from anyone on the Uconnect 5, 12" package which is all new for 2022. I am trying to get the dealer to take the truck back forever and order me a new one since this one is only a few hours old. Probably a pipe dream there.

ANYWAY...I do have all kinds of details about the features that are included in this build if anyone is interested. It was ordered early August and received Oct 4th through rail in Nashville with 7 miles on it. Oddly, it shows 3 hours of idle time. Maybe during loading/unloading they let them run.

The only option that appears to be missing is blind-spot-monitoring BUT I do seem to have two camera connections on the bumper (like Jimmy07) that were not on the original build sheet! I believe one is to connect a trailer camera to the rear-view-mirror (screen) and the other is to connect a camera to the Uconnect screen (that doesn't turn on lol). Not sure as I can't get into the screen to configure or view any camera feeds.

If anyone has any questions about the 2022's, let me know!!

Wait that’s at Dan Cummins isn’t it? Shoot me a dm please, picking up mine from them tomorrow.

I’m supposed to have cooled and heated seats too, but I’m not sure if they ever got installed….there is no button to press. The only way to turn those on is through the god forsaken Uconnect screen….that doesn’t work :mad:o_O
For 12 inchers, there are no physical buttons for them.

Be careful what you wish for….pressuring these factories apparently leads to total crap builds. At least in my case.

I would much rather still be waiting on a build than taking delivery yesterday, driving for 2 hours only to have a catastrophic failure of the entire Uconnect screen/system with no known solution from the dealer, FCA or Uconnect. The Uconnect 5 Nav 12” option is all new for 2022 so they apparently don’t yet have an issues/solutions database. Lucky me. Their only advice is to NOT drive truck because they can’t confirm that systems like crash avoidance, lane departure, adaptive cruise, high beams, etc will work as all those settings are fed through the failed Uconnect System.

I was just going to drive it with no radio or climate control but no go. It has to stay parked with less than 2 hours of use. I told the dealer I was having it towed back and to not sell my trade as I wanted to return the truck and unwind the whole purchase. He said that is not possible. So…I do indeed have a brand new 2022 build that was ordered in August and received yesterday.…. with big a## payments, but it cannot be driven until further notice with no known remedy and no timeline and likely no chips/parts even if the problem is ever is diagnosed!

Believe me, I would rather have an order waiting on parts in Mexico. At least then I would still have a slim chance at a decent build, no payments and still have the truck I traded away yesterday instead of Uber bills to get me to work.

By the way, I’ve already decided that if they take this dead truck back, my next order is going to be for a Tradesman with radio delete...and hand crank windows!!
I recognize that picture, yeah mine is the red one that I believe is identical to that. I’m coming from Cleveland tomorrow to pick it up, in Paris right?

Well, I am in the "I just got pushed back again" crowd. Original order date 6/8, original ship date of 8/14, then went to 10/11 (Ramshat quoted two dates 10/4 & 10/11), then just got news from Sandi it is now slated for 10/16. Ram doesn't disappoint with the disappointments

I’m slowly regretting going with the 12 inch
I spoke to the Regional Uconnect people. Apparently there was a major update to the Uconnect5 system on 10/2 That a lot of dealers didn’t know about. They say one of the fixes in the software update is “freezing and blank screens”. They will Attempt to flash mine next Weds. will let you know how that goes
